Fraser’s Ridge is currently featured in a commercial on HGTV and Magnolia Network for Real American Hardwood highlighting its unique hardwood finishes. https://youtu.be/EWmF3APMNQo Owner is a descendant of the renowned Frasers of Lovat, the real-life Scottish Highland clan depicted in the popular ’Outlander’ TV series. While Jamie Fraser, the loyal clan member and warrior, is a fictional character, Jamie’s grandfather, Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat (c. 1667-1747), was a real-life historical figure and owner’s ancestral cousin. Quality materials and fittings are sourced from Fraser ancestral lands in the UK, Canada and Continental Europe. Meticulously designed by owner, this 4-bedroom/4-bathroom family estate is inviting. It features 2,300 square feet of luxurious interior living space (3,200 total sq ft), a bright and large living area with a 21-foot high ceiling, north-facing oversized casement window, and well-proportioned interior spaces with high-end finishes and imported elements. Worthy of a Lord’s chateau, it is a modern-day interpretation of Beaufort Castle in Beauly, Scotland, the traditional seat of the Frasers of Lovat. Taking cues from the Bauhaus movement, the architecture is modern and intentionally minimalist to highlight lux materials, fittings and contemporary furnishings. An open floor plan and large windows invite ample natural light to permeate the space with northern and southern exposures giving a coastal vibe. Upon entry, the eye is drawn to the helicoidal oak staircase imported from Italy enticing you to ascend to the second-floor loft. Designed and manufactured by Marretti, the staircase is finished with a medium stain, contrasting nicely with the pre-finished blond hardwood oak floors that run throughout the first and second floors. Elevating the living area is the Taraxacum Chandelier designed by Achille Castiglioni. At night, it is a beacon through the front façade’s floor-to-ceiling window. Set off the living area is the state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen outfitted with imported Mia Cucina Italian custom cabinetry, Italian Calacatta Caldia polished marble waterfall edge countertops and backsplash, a 5-burner Bertazzoni gas range and stainless-steel KitchenAid appliances. Just behind the staircase there is a wine bar outfitted by California Closets with custom lighting designed by Shakuff. First and second floors feature 10-foot ceilings purposely designed for the owner’s modern art collection, which is displayed throughout the entire house. The back of the property faces south looking onto a park. On the first level there are two bedrooms, one that can be used as an office or study. A large sun room climaxes the first floor with French doors opening onto a rear deck for indoor/outdoor living and entertaining. From the second-floor loft, views overlooking the first floor are architecturally inspiring. Over the course of the day, natural light flooding into the house reveals ever-changing spatial qualities excellent for filming. The expansive well-lit primary suite is on the second-floor at the back of the property, showcasing hardwood oak floors in herringbone pattern, Asian-inspired furniture, custom pendants and a sizable outdoor balcony with views of the park and memorable sunsets. Double barn doors for closet and primary bathroom give the space a contemporary feel. The large walk-in closet, custom-built by California Closets, is skylit. The en-suite bathroom, also skylit, features a custom designed dual sink walnut vanity and matching backsplash manufactured by JMV Woodworks from Canada. The vanity is finished with a beautiful quartzite waterfall edge countertop and modern faucets from Canadian Riobel. The shower is oversized with a wall of seamless glass. A rainfall showerhead, large format porcelain tile, marble seat and herringbone shower pan complete the shower’s spa-like feel. The property, which includes very fast WiFi, also has a 400 square foot 2-car garage behind the house clad with Fraser Wood Siding from Canada. The house offers a sophisticated urban feel that evokes a location in Manhattan, Miami, LA or the Hamptons. However, this unique loft is situated in a far less congested and quiet area of Long Island minutes from the UBS Arena (accessible via the new Elmont LIRR station), near public transportation corridors and 10 minutes from JFK airport. Unlike locations in Manhattan, where parking comes at a premium, this site offers ample street parking and outdoor space for cars, trailers, trucks and filming equipment, as well as several restaurants, shops and other amenities nearby. The combination of modern design excellence, high-end fit and finish and easy access for cast, crew and patrons makes this property ideal for your next film production, photo shoot, group meeting, private reception, wedding, culinary activity or pop-up event. Owner requires at least a 2 to 3-week lead time prior to reservation and 5-hour minimum rental. Reservations open to US, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern and Asian-based production companies and photographers. The owner would be happy to arrange a walk-through of the space, acclimate you to the area and respond to any questions that you might have. We appreciate your interest and look forward to hosting you at our Modern-Day Fraser’s Ridge chateau!

Greg is a fantastic host! He went above and beyond to make sure our production had everything we needed. He also helped pick out specific wood pieces that he knew our client would like. He also assisted in furnishing the whole house to our preference, and reached out to the artists from all the pieces of art in the home for rights clearances. 10/10 would recommend filming here. I hope I can go back sometime soon!
