Mustang Meadows at Dos Conchas Ranch

Dos Conchas Ranch is an 800-acre Hill Country ranch accessible off FM-1855, five miles north of downtown Marble Falls and just over one hour from downtown Austin. With a working horse and cattle ranch, several residences, a towering treehouse, the dancehall, historic home, rolling pastures, oak groves and shaded watering holes, this is a hidden Texas Hill Country gem known and beloved by locals. Directly off FM-1855 is our 6,000-square-foot executive vacation property. Mustang Meadows sits nestled at the top of a hill overlooking a private 77 acres, a herd of colorful roaming broodmares and foals, private hiking trails and a relaxing outdoor BBQ patio. It features six bedrooms, a stunning great room, chef’s kitchen, two dining and living room areas and a beautiful limestone fireplace. The home is rented out as an AirBnB but also hosts weddings, private parties, photo shoots, meetings and video productions. Across the road, at the northernmost end of the ranch, the Cadillac Dance hall is an old-time authentic Texas dancehall welcoming patrons on to the hardwood dance floors once a month on the last Saturday – featuring house band Eddie Shell and The Not Guilties and an array of country music’s best old-time stars gracing the stage as guests. You might see kids dancing across the dance floor, a bachelorette party arriving in a limousine, a dog or two running around loose, a few friendly cattle and horses gathered near the entrance. Nearby, under an old windmill and the canopy of an ancient oak tree, our historic house stands frozen in time. In the process of restoration, this house still features furnishings and décor from some of the original settlers in the valley. It’s quite a treat to wander in and step back in time. The ranch itself features groves of oaks, cacti-spotted pastures, rolling acres of wandering cattle and horses, and a working horse and cattle ranch at the southern end. You might spot a wandering horseback rider, deer, owls, a cow and her calf, or meander down a lonely hill country trail blissfully alone in the dappled shade. In the center of the ranch sits the treehouse – a bright and sunny cabin in the canopy that is both rustic and chic, decorated in eclectic homage to the international adventures of the property owners and their extended families. You’ll find whimsy and memories in the tropical art, placards and priceless collectibles, antique finishes, metal, wood and colorful touches - this isn’t like any space you’ve seen before. Downstairs, you’ll find an outdoor seating area with wooden recliners and a tree swing for the kids. To the south (just visible through the trees) is the working ranch portion of Dos Conchas. To the north, up a scenic winding drive, you’ll cruise past the infamous Cadillac Dance Hall. The entire property features easy, secure and simple-to-navigate access with paved roads and ample parking close to each of the above destinations. And you are just a few minutes from the center of Marble Falls and a mile from US-281.
