This cozy, picturesque apartment in the hills of Silver Lake is the perfect location for your period or contemporary film shoot. Perched on a hillside property overlooking Fountain Avenue, this space offers the perfect setting for all types of production, and can serve as its own inspiration for you to work, write, paint, tinker, make music, or simply escape the city. Surrounded by quaint yet lush landscaping, walkways and stairways, fruit trees, a fountain, and a hand-built 70+ year-old cave that is rumored to be designed by Disney contractors, this studio apartment was built in the 1940s onto the property's main house, which was built in 1920 by a silent film star. The property is seeped in history and was one of the first developed lots in the historic Moreno Highlands tract of Silver Lake. Ample natural light - particularly in the afternoon to evening - bathe the surroundings in a warm, tree-filtered glow.
IMPORTANT: Please request at least 24 hours in advance of your start time. While we'd love to host everyone, we are unable to make this an instant booking space. We will review your booking and ask a few questions regarding size and noise levels before accepting. We are able to host nearly all of our requests and look forward to hosting you!
please note!
- There are lots of stairs, so the space has limited accessibility. Note that you will likely need to carry equipment (about 20 steps from the sidewalk to the cabin, and 20 steps from the cabin to the restroom).
- we cannot accept requests less than 24 hours in advance.
- Noise from beyond our property line is of course beyond our control, but we will do our best to notify you of any potential conflicts beforehand (trash day, neighbor parties, etc). If we learn of a conflict beforehand, we will help cancel or reschedule at no charge.
We cannot host any productions that involve excessive noise like yelling or smoking or other flames/fire hazards.
