The vision for The Norwood was to restore the glory of being a place for entertainment and celebration of life’s best moments - Originally a Theatre from 1915 to 1949, The Norwood is now Detroit’s newest Industrial Event Venue & Downstairs Bar Lounge (Intermission) with 7,000 square ft and 3 floors.
In 1915, the architectural firm William S. Jay & Co. designed & opened The Norwood Theatre. It was then demolished in the summer of 1941 to allow for road widening. A new Norwood Theatre was built on the site designed in an Art Deco style, but eventually closed in 1949….
