Designed for Production Built with creators in mind, the Social Space features abundant natural light from large windows, making it ideal for both still and motion work. The layout is modular and highly flexible, perfect for interviews, lifestyle shoots, branded content, and commercial productions. Power is plentiful throughout the space, with outlets on every wall and in the ceiling rafters. This makes lighting rigs, cameras, and grip equipment easy to set up without clutter or compromise. The Social Space is 1,900 square feet. The ceiling height to the top of the rafters is 10 feet. A detailed floor plan can be supplied upon request. Are there dedicated areas for wardrobe, hair, and makeup? Yes. The slat wall was intentionally installed to create a separation for wardrobe and/or hair and makeup. The slats are adjustable and can be fully closed for privacy. There is also a single bathroom with ample space that can be used as a changing room. Does the space have natural light, and can it be controlled for shooting? Yes. The Social Space has excellent natural light that can be controlled or diffused using the installed curtains. Please note, the curtains are not blackout. What is the lighting setup like? Are dimmers available and is it zoned? Lighting in the main area is 3500K with a 95 CRI. The kitchen area is 3000K with a 95 CRI. All lighting is dimmable down to 1% and divided into five zones, allowing complete control over the interior lighting. What power options and outlets are available for lighting or production gear? Multiple 120V outlets are independently switched and located along all walls. Additional outlets are mounted in the rafters for overhead use. The circuit breakers are easily accessible located inside the kitchen area of the Social Space. What are the load-in and load-out options for production teams? Load-in and load-out can be done directly in front of the Social Space. A private parking lot is located behind the building and accessible from the back door. For larger productions, we can request permission for temporary use of the rear lot for loading and unloading. Can I reserve parking for production vehicles or crew? Yes. One parking space in the front lot is reserved for your production and can accommodate a Sprinter van–sized vehicle. Weekend rentals typically we can supply more parking spots. Crew members are encouraged to park in the free parking structure one block away. Larger vehicles, such as box trucks, should plan to park on the street after unloading. What is the process for scout visits before booking? Scout visits are welcome. Please email [email protected] to coordinate a time. Can we store gear or props overnight if our shoot spans multiple days? Yes, overnight storage is permitted for multi-day shoots. Renters must provide proof of insurance coverage. The Social Space is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Is there Wi-Fi access available for production use? Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the space. Can we rearrange or remove furniture and wall artwork for a shoot? Yes. Furniture and artwork may be rearranged to suit your production needs, but all items must be returned to their original placement before checkout. Please note that the wood slat wall and projector are permanent fixtures and cannot be removed. If you would like any artwork removed, please make this request prior to your arrival, and our team will handle it for you. Are backdrops allowed to be temporarily decorated or painted? Temporary backdrops are allowed. Painting or making holes in the interior walls or ceiling is not permitted. Is proof of insurance required for production bookings? Yes. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required prior to receiving the door code and check-in information. We will coordinate these details with you following confirmation of your booking. Is on-site staff available during productions? No. The Social Space does not provide on-site staff. It is the renter’s responsibility to supply all staffing and production support. However, an associate will be available and reachable at any time during your rental period should you need assistance. Is there a refrigerator or kitchenette available for catering and craft services? Yes. A full working kitchen is available for catering and craft service use. Can you recommend local production vendors, stylists, or catering partners? Yes. As a social media agency, Smarty Social Media works closely with a wide network of production vendors, stylists, and local partners, and we are happy to provide referrals upon request. Do you offer assistance with permits or city requirements for filming in Old Towne Orange? No. Obtaining any required city or film permits is the sole responsibility of the renter.
