A 1,500 sq ft bookable space inside our 2,000 sq ft Red Hook townhouse, with two full kitchens, a floor-to-ceiling library, a sage-green living room with a working fireplace, and a lush backyard — all flowing openly across the first floor. The space feels like a real home because it is one: lived-in, colorful, book and art-filled, with the unforced but polished quality that makes commercial and editorial work look authentic and not corporate.
Activities that work well:
• Lifestyle and portrait photography
• Food and cooking content — commercials, cookbook shoots, recipe development
• Documentary-style interviews and talking-head videos
• Product photography with natural lighting
• Brand campaigns seeking authentic, lived-in environments
• Small team offsites and creative meetings
The space, room by room:
The colorful kitchen is the heart of the home — blue-green cabinets, a yellow oven, warm butcher-block counters, wood and brass fixtures and a farmhouse sink, with a long reclaimed-wood dining table that seats six. Late afternoon light pours in, making it especially good for food shoots. The kitchen flows directly into the dining room, which flows into a warm yellow library with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves. Past the library is a sage-green living room with a working marble fireplace and velvet sofa — sophisticated and intimate, perfect for interview setups or moodier scenes. These rooms make striking backdrop for portraits, author interviews, or any shot that needs warmth and texture.
A second full kitchen on the second floor is available for craft services, equipment staging, and crew use without disrupting the shoot below. The backyard — with climbing greenery, string lights and raised garden beds — adds an outdoor option for golden-hour shots or breaks.

A note from your host:
My husband and I are both journalists at major newspapers and have hosted commercial shoots, editorial photography, cooking content, and documentary-style interviews here. I understand shoot timelines, I'm responsive and flexible, and I'll stay out of your way. Past clients have called out the kitchen as one of the most photogenic in Brooklyn, the easy check-in, and how naturally the home reads on camera.
Video and commercial productions are welcome at the standard rate. For smaller photo shoots or simpler bookings, message us — we’re happy to discuss.
