Few landscapes have such a compelling historical figure so closely associated with a legacy of family, freedom, community, faith, leadership, the pursuit of liberty, equality, justice, self-determination, resilience, fortitude and knowledge of natural ecosystems as Harriet Tubman. Step into a place where history, art, and community come alive. Inspired by the enduring legacy of Harriet Tubman, our venue is a sanctuary for storytelling, reflection, education and discovery. The Harriet Tubman Freedom Center for Cultural and Educational Advancement is a space where the legacy of courage, resilience, and hope is brought to life. The Center honors Harriet Tubman’s extraordinary journey and carries her spirit into the present through rotating art exhibitions, cultural programs, educational initiatives, and community events. Visitors are invited to explore stories of freedom and perseverance, connect with diverse expressions of art and history, and experience the power of community in action. More than a museum, the Center is a living tribute—an inspiring destination where history informs the present and shapes a brighter future. The Harriet Tubman Freedom Center is dedicated to preserving, honoring, and advancing the legacy of Harriet Tubman through education, cultural enrichment, and community engagement. We strive to inspire freedom, resilience, and justice by sharing Tubman’s story as a guide for empowerment, leadership, and social change. Through programs, tours, exhibits, and partnerships, the Center serves as a beacon for learning, reflection, and action—connecting past struggles for freedom to present and future generations. The Freedom Center is operated by the Harriet Tubman Center for Cultural and Educational Advancement, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving history and promoting cultural growth. Together, we strive to ensure that Harriet Tubman’s story is remembered not just as history, but as a living call to action. Through evocative exhibitions like A Taste of Freedom, immersive storytelling, and dynamic programs, the Center awakens in each visitor the vision of liberation, the power of spiritual resolve, and the transformative force of radical love. Here, Harriet Tubman’s story is not just remembered—it is felt, embodied, and carried forward by every person who walks through its doors.
