The Village Farmhouse, built in 1814, is a unique property that sits on 2.5 acres in the heart of a historic Virginia village. The grounds have flower, herb and vegetable gardens, and the back field has a small herd of goats, wildflowers, and a guesthouse built from a restored barn. The house has a large chef's kitchen with a commercial range, large farm table, a fireplace sitting area with a wood stove, and exposed brick walls and ceiling beams. The house has been featured in both Country Living and Preservation Magazine. The front parlor opens to a sitting room with its own wood burning fireplace and French doors out to the back porch, with a pastoral view of the fields and farmland behind. There are three bedrooms, each with their own interesting features, all have exposed beams and fireplaces. The guesthouse in the back has exposed beams and charcoal stained pine shiplap, and is quite striking. It has mahogany windows and three sets of French doors, all custom made in France. There is a sleeping loft with a bathtub and a kitchen, farm table and sitting area with a wood stove.
