Welcome to BCS - Brad Carter Studios This is a 905 sq. ft. acting and photography studio owned by professional actor, acting coach, and photographer, Brad Carter. There is an optional 700 sq ft bonus unit included with the rental. The studio is located in a 126 year old former syrup factory and hosiery mill called Houston Station. This rapidly growing area is called Wedgewood Houston/ Wedgewood Village. The building is located right across from a great restaurant called "ABA". There’s a lot of new places to eat, grab coffee, yogurt, or BEER, so you can plan to eat before or after your shoot, or even grab a beer afterward at Jackalope or Bastion. The 905 acting studio is perfect for photoshoots, film or music video production. You may also rent this out for meetings, workshops, classes, etc. (See my other listings) The bonus unit features exposed brick with chipping paint, bright windows, and fireplace mantle. Please note that Brad or another staff member will be on site to assist you at any point in your shoot, whether it's moving furniture, paper rolls, helping with lights etc., but won't hover in the space. A full-size and a smaller one with plenty of brittle 78” records to get your authentic warbly, scratchy mood going. * A 1930’s “Waterfall” style vanity with round mirror, and controllable lights that can be used as a makeup station. * An early 1900's parlor guitar. * The entry doors are faux stained-glass film. * This area is also decorated with: Antique books, mirrors, clocks, tin-toys, and cameras...so many cameras...did I mention there's cameras? MID CENTURY MODERN CORNER A lovingly curated area to give you that authentic MCM feel. Featuring: * Velvet orange and green curtains. * MCM wall mirror (can be moved). * 1960’s black and white Zenith TV (can be turned on for that good ol' static snow). * MCM Starburst wall clock. * Vintage MCM ashtrays (NO SMOKING) * 1950’s Zenith transistor radio. * Mid Century Aztec wall decor. * 2 record/radio consoles: A Zenith from the 50's, and a Grundig from the 60'splayer/radio. * A gold MCM arc lamp with five adjustable lamp arms that can be dimmed to your liking. * Green and orange MCM lamp with smart bulb for all the colors. * 1960's TruTone children's organ. * Reel to Reel recorder * Vintage phones (5 to choose from) 4 rotary in Baby Blue, black, Orange, and Yellow. These are up out of reach but may be used with permission and assistance. UNIQUE WALL OF VINTAGE CAMERAS AND YELLOW COUCH * Brad has built an antique camera corner featuring film and movie cameras from the 1890 to 1975. This area also features: * Velvet orange curtains. * Velvet blue wallpaper. *Recessed lighting with warm Edison bulbs that can be dimmed o the brightness of your desire. *HUGE corner sofa from the late 1960's with so much MCM velvety mustard yellow goodness you can't stand it. * 2 authentic MCM swag lamps. * A large metal light-up Nashville sign that can be lowered or raised completely out of your shot.
