Our home is a 1915 un-renovated Brooklyn Rowhouse. Original details abound! Full-house tin-ceilings, wood-panel moulding, inlaid wood floors, skeleton keys still left in almost all of the doors. The interior has been eclectically designed with bold colors, rich woods, and an inspiring collection of vintage thrift finds spanning decades. The Parlor floor consists of a living room with cozy furniture, a piano, a window greenhouse and a dizzying collection of unique lighting fixtures. This leads to a formal dining room equipped with a full set table for 6, deep rich woods and a collection of taxidermy which overlooks the garden/greenhouse in the backyard. The fully equipped kitchen has a 1950's vibe with multiple floral patterns doused in pinks, greens & blues. There is also the original wood staircase, a cedar-lined WC, plant-packed Sunroom and charming Mudroom off the kitchen.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, 1 mint-green bathroom and a hallway with a skylight which are available as an Add-on. We maintain a studio & bedroom on this floor that are not available for bookings.
Plants! We have approximately 100-150 plants that are available as an Add-on. This collection can be used in multiple ways and configurations. To use the plants, I serve as the Greens person and will move any of the plants into the room(s) in the configuration that you prefer. May-October the plants are living outside in the Greenhouse and yard, but can be shifted inside. October-May plants are located in the Sunroom, upstairs bathroom, our studio and the Dining room.
Backyard consists of a tropical plant-filled Greenhouse, a small patio with chaise lounge, table that sits 4, a veggie garden, a bevy of potted perennials and 3 suspended umbrellas to protect from the sun.
We are located in the bustling multi-cultural neighborhood of Midwood, Brooklyn 1 block from the Q train, near a business district where you can find all your last minute needs. Street parking is pretty available.
