About the Space

This Studio City cape cod sits tucked into the Coldwater Canyon hillside with a maturity and texture that's genuinely rare — you feel it the moment the Dutch door swings open and those hand-forged iron strap hinges catch the light. The exterior reads instantly cinematic: white lap siding, a dark slate roof with eyebrow dormers, native stone base, and a sweeping brick terrace that curves around an oval pool wrapped in ivy-covered retaining walls. Sunset hits the west-facing rear facade hard — warm amber and coral raking across the stone and white painted wood — and the tree canopy behind the property gives you a soft, filtered green backdrop that fills every window without losing sky. Production-wise, the outdoor zones are layered and distinct: a lower brick patio with oversized wicker sectionals and a fire table for scene work or HMU holding, brick staircase leading up to the kidney-shaped pool deck with torch-style lanterns already in place, and a generous gravel and flagstone upper garden that absorbs grip and electric trucks with room to breathe. The façade itself is strong enough to carry a period piece or contemporary family drama without any set dressing. Inside, the tonal palette is warm white and sand with recurring pops of raw brick, exposed wood, and aged iron — it layers beautifully on camera and doesn't fight color grading. The dining room is a standout: white-painted shiplap beams run the ceiling at roughly ten feet, oversized windows face east and north pulling in cool morning light and tree canopy, a reclaimed wood farm table anchors the room, and a raw brick archway connects directly to the fireplace sitting area — a practical two-room shooting environment with zero wasted space. The kitchen is a high-contrast moment: matte black cabinetry floor to ceiling, brass pulls and pot filler, a dark island against white-oak plank flooring, and an exposed brick accent column that echoes the exterior stone. It photographs like a shelter magazine cover and functions as a legitimate hero kitchen for food-forward content or cooking show segments. Upstairs bedrooms carry sloped ceilings, sage and warm linen walls, wrought iron beds, and layered textile styling that reads authentically lived-in — great for intimate drama, editorial portraiture, or overnight brand campaigns. The bathrooms are genuinely special: one is floor-to-ceiling blue-veined white marble with a rain head and hexagonal mosaic tile floor, the other wraps a freestanding white soaking tub in full-slab warm travertine with matte black fixtures — both are camera-ready without a single prop. For events, this property flows with a rare indoor-outdoor logic. The brick terrace with fire table and sectionals handles cocktail hours for 30 to 50 guests with the pool as a natural backdrop. The dining room seats 10 to 12 comfortably for intimate dinners or brand activations — the farm table and candlelight setup is already styled and functional. The main living room with its white built-in cabinetry wall, stone fireplace, and warm neutrals converts easily for panel discussions, product reveals, or editorial breakfasts. Sound is solid — the canyon tree canopy absorbs ambient noise and there's no major road traffic intrusion. Parking can be staged on the upper driveway and overflow handled nearby. This is a property that earns its keep on half-day shoots and full-day brand takeovers equally well.
