    About the Space

This is one of those rare urban finds that earns its keep on both sides of the camera. The building's exterior alone is a full set — warm red brick climbing three stories, ivy crawling up the facade in thick, organic waves against a deep blue LA sky. The arched steel entry door off the rear courtyard reads like something out of a 1940s crime drama: raw brick surround, exposed conduit, black metal and grit. That courtyard itself is a quiet gem — a long concrete bar ledge with bistro stools, string lights overhead, a wall of green shrubs for depth, and the warm texture of aged brick framing every angle. For exteriors, establishing shots, or any scene needing an East Coast urban feel without leaving Los Angeles, this building delivers immediately. Step inside and the common areas continue to build the world. The lobby entry is all terracotta tile floors, ornate wrought-iron stair railings with scrollwork detail, and patterned copper-toned wallpaper that gives off a faded-glamour Beaux-Arts vibe. The elevator is a heavy industrial vault door — diamond-cut steel panel, genuinely cinematic. Hallways on upper floors shift tone: white walls, dark wood-painted trim, patterned carpet runners, globe sconce lighting, and numbered black doors that could pass for a boutique hotel or a noir detective's building without a single set decoration change. Multiple stair configurations — including a dramatic exterior staircase throwing ornate wrought-iron shadow patterns across pink-painted concrete — give directors and photographers a wealth of distinct looks within steps of each other. The individual units bring a clean, renovated contrast to the building's character-rich bones. Open living areas feature wide-plank light oak LVP flooring, soft blue-grey walls, and an exposed red brick feature wall running the full length of the room — punctuated by wide white-trimmed double-hung windows that let in strong natural light from the west-facing facade. These spaces photograph bright, open, and modern while the brick keeps them rooted in something real. Bathrooms are period-nod perfect: white subway tile wainscoting, classic black-and-white hexagon mosaic floor tile — clean lines, no clutter, no styling needed. Bedrooms are simple and controllable: mirrored closet doors, a single window with lush green foliage pressing against the glass, a mini-split for climate control on shoot days. For events, this property works on multiple levels — literally. The courtyard handles intimate brand activations, pop-up dinners, or creative wrap parties with real atmosphere and zero setup overhead. The lobby and stairwells are ready-made for editorial walk-throughs, fashion presentations, or immersive brand experiences that need layered architectural texture. Units can be dressed quickly for small-group workshops, creative offsites, or production holding. Street access and alley access make logistics straightforward, and the multi-floor layout gives productions room to separate departments without crowding any single space.
