    About Simple Slate Studio

    Welcome to the photography studio at Salt & Honey, a thoughtfully designed creative space located in historic Waterloo, Illinois, just outside the St. Louis metro area. Our studio offers a warm, inviting setting with beautiful natural light, neutral tones, styled furniture, and a variety of textures that make it easy to create multiple looks during a single session. The space is ideal for: Family photography Maternity and newborn sessions Senior portraits Couples and engagement sessions Branding and lifestyle photography Headshots Product photography Mini sessions Content creation Social media shoots Small video productions The studio has been designed to feel comfortable and residential rather than like a traditional commercial studio, giving photographers a polished backdrop without needing to bring an entire set with them. Furniture and decor can be incorporated into your session, and the variety of areas within the studio allows photographers to create several distinct looks without changing locations. Located in downtown Waterloo, the studio is convenient for photographers and clients coming from Waterloo, Columbia, Belleville, the Metro East, South St. Louis County, and the greater St. Louis area.

    Health and Safety Measures

    We want every guest to arrive to a clean, comfortable, and photo-ready studio. The space is cleaned and maintained regularly, and we ask each guest to help us keep it ready for the next booking. At the end of your reservation, please return the studio to the condition in which you found it. This includes: Return furniture, props, and equipment to their original locations. Remove all personal belongings, decorations, food, and other items brought into the studio. Place trash in the designated trash cans. Wipe up any spills or messes that occur during your booking. Sweep up any significant debris, glitter, confetti, dirt, or other materials from your session. Leave bathrooms and common areas tidy. Please do not leave dirty dishes, food, or beverages behind. Our team periodically performs deeper cleaning and restocking to ensure the studio remains clean and welcoming. Please allow a few minutes at the end of your reserved time for cleanup and resetting the space. Excessive cleaning, damage, or a studio left in unusually poor condition may result in an additional cleaning fee.

    Cancellation Policy

    Flexible

    Guests may cancel their Booking until seven days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between seven days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more
    All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.
