A jazz vinyl listening bar in Crown Heights, built the way the great Tokyo kissaten are: a wall of more than 5,000 vintage jazz LPs, an all-vinyl program, and a sound system people cross the borough to hear. Records play on Technics SL-1200 turntables through ModWright tube amplifiers and Harbeth speakers. It is the kind of room where a conversation and a Blue Note pressing can share the air without fighting.
For a full buyout the room is yours: the bar, the main listening room (about 55 seats), and the covered, heated backyard patio (about 40 more). Comfortable capacity is around 75; we can host up to 100 standing. Great for birthdays, engagement parties, wedding welcome drinks, album release listening sessions, team nights, and holiday parties.
You pick the music. Bring your own records, send us a list, or let us pull from the wall, which runs from early-1950s bop through late-1970s spiritual jazz across labels like Blue Note, Prestige, Contemporary, and Impulse!. Our split-flap sign, which normally shows the record on the turntable, can carry your guest of honor's name or a message for the night.
Drinks are cocktails named after jazz records, with East Asian-inspired flavors like yuzu and shiso, plus beer, wine, sake, and zero-proof options made with the same care. The kitchen does small plates and shareables, and every guest gets our house-spiced popcorn. Outside cake with disposables is welcome.
Weeknight Cocktail Hour: Monday to Wednesday, 4:00 to 6:30pm, up to 80 guests, with a four-cocktail list, popcorn, and two shareables. At 6:30 the room opens to the public and your group is welcome to stay.
The space is ground-floor and step-free, a short walk from the 2/3/4/5 trains. Bar staff, glassware, and the sound system are included. A food and beverage minimum applies to every booking and is settled directly with the venue on the day of the event: $3,000 Sunday to Thursday, $6,000 Friday and Saturday, and $1,500 for the Weeknight Cocktail Hour. It is a spending floor on drinks and food, not an extra fee.
