When Summer is kicked out of her American boarding school, her career-minded mother decides to send her to live with a friend in Shorehaven, along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. This famous Australian stretch of road is famous around the globe. It boasts over 200 km of beautiful beaches and vistas from Torquay to the South Australian border. One of the most phenomenal sights to see along the Great Ocean Road is the 12 Apostles \u2013 a cluster of massive limestone rocks jutting out from the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Great Ocean Road being a very real place, you won\u2019t find the town of Shoreditch on a map. According to issuu.com<\/a>, the show\u2019s creators made the town, drawing inspiration from nearby towns like Wye River and Anglesea. They also note that the community on Great Ocean Road was grateful to receive the production<\/a>. They welcomed them eagerly to show off their beautiful beaches. According to IMDB<\/a>, they filmed interior scenes in Melbourne<\/a>, Victoria\u2019s largest city. Other films and television series shot in Melbourne include 2013\u2019s \u201cThe Great Gatsby\u201d, the third season of the HBO drama \u201cThe Leftovers\u201d, and the 1979 Aussie classic, \u201cMad Max\u201d. While there are no spoilers for story beats, filming went well. Film Link<\/a> shares a quote from Joanna Werner, the series producer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They spoke to the show\u2019s Surf Producer, Fran Derham, who indicated that the production was happy to recapture the magic at some of the same beaches.
