Darlington is a small village with gorgeous surroundings in Australia\u2019s Scenic Rim Region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the area, Alexander Peak rises 600 meters above sea level \u2013 giving the area California mountain vibes. Plus, the landscape is filled with vegetation you would expect to see in California, rather than the tropics of Australia! Maybe this is the location Actress Ariana Greenblatt was describing to <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/love-monsters-movie-ariana-greenblatt-interview\/\">Screen Rant<\/a> when she said, \u201c A lot of the locations were so, so beautiful. Actress Ariana Greenblatt <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/love-monsters-movie-ariana-greenblatt-interview\/\">told Screen Rant<\/a> in an interview that one of her favorite memories while filming was getting to fly in a helicopter for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said they were, \u201con top of this mountain looking down at Queensland, Australia. It was crazy. These studio scenes and shots came out of the Screen Queensland Studios in Hemmant, Australia just outside of Brisbane. This location opened in 2019 and is Australia\u2019s third-largest studio complex!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, director Dylan O\u2019Brien <a href=\"https:\/\/decider.com\/2020\/10\/16\/love-and-monsters-director-interview-dylan-obrien-dog\/\">told Decider<\/a> that they tried to stay out of the studio as much as possible. \u201cThat was one of the big things for me: I didn\u2019t want it to end up feeling too glossy, or too artificial. I wanted it to feel like a real journey, and a real adventure,\u201d said O\u2019Brien. \u201cYou feel like when he\u2019s in the dirt, he\u2019s in the dirt.
