This Dutch African home was designed and built by the Grandaughter of the Carrier air-conditioning owner/inventor. The home is set up to mimic a Bedouin Sheik's home. Guests enter through a large Tunisian double door, opening up to an Oasis (a beautiful indoor plunge pool). To the right an exotic atriumed living room surrounded by 12 stone pillars. In the center of the atrium, a uniquely beautiful, driftwood chandelier graces the air. A Hookah Lounge is just off the living room. This exotic space makes guests feel as though they are in a velvet, jewel toned genie bottle. The space doubles as a movie theatre/screening room. The floors throughout the entry, living room and bedrooms are poured concrete and are stained to add drama to each room. Boarders around the floor are created with copper and brick, which adds depth and richness to the home. The kitchen is a large rectangular room, flooded with natural light. It is perfect for prepping meals and entertaining. There are copper counters throughout and a stunning copper range hood. The double sinks and double dish washers are convenient. There is a Wolf, 6 burner stove top, convection oven, microwave and stainless refrigerator. The kitchen has some of the the best views of the river and of the 100 year old oaks dripping with Spanish Moss, which grace the backyard. The master bedroom has spectacular stained floors. They shine in rich caramel and dark brown with hints of gold. The ensuite bathroom is an extra large, luxurious one. There is a decadent, standalone tub, under a crystal chandelier that is framed by an oversized gold mirror and lush, tropical plants. The dining room is styled with Colonial British-Indian furniture. It has an antique round table that seats 12, an Afghan rug, mother of pearl inlaid wooden chairs and an antique chandelier made of wood and steel, entitled, "To Market, To Market". The backyard and patio garden are beautiful to stroll through. There is a grand, curved wooden staircase that leads down to the marsh, which makes for a dramatic entrance for brides!
