About the Space

Located in the heart of Toronto next to Kensington Market, our space offers a unique location for your event with a grand, open, historical auditorium space of over 3800+ square ft which accommodates up to 268 persons. Fitted with a tall cathedral ceiling and a mirrored wall, this is CecilVenue's main space for rentals. Ranging from weddings to festivals to corporate conferences, our space can be used for any and all purposes! For more information visit our website at: https://cecilcentre.ca/rentals/ In the center of our auditorium is a wooden floor, perfect for dancing and socializing. Chairs(170+) and round tables(15) come included in the rental price. All our rentals come with an event crew to help you set up and run your event as stress-free as possible! We offer a special rate for non-profit organizations of $150/hour, as well as customized rates and deals for certain groups depending on budgetary needs. Additional Optional Packages AV Package ($35/hour): comes with 2 speakers and stands, 2 microphones and stands, A projector, and access to a large (220-inch) projector screen

Rules for food and non-alcoholic beverages

Alcohol is always welcome in any event for a flat fee cost of $150. We provide our custom-made, hand-built bar for events that plan to bring alcohol. You will need to acquire a special occasion permit for an event where alcohol is present which can be done via the LCBO website at, www.agco.ca/alcohol/special-occasion-permits-private-event Food is welcome for any event. Please remember to bring food warmers in case the food is meant to be served hot. Also ensure to bring takeout containers to pack up any leftover food and drink. We can also offer our downstairs kitchen to reheat food for $50/hour.

A kitchen is available to rent during events for $50/hour. Ideal for catering and food preparation, the (300 sq ft.) kitchen is equipped with standard appliances, including a stove, oven, and fridge, making it easy to arrange delicious meals for your guests.

Parking description

Our venue does not own a parking lot, but clients are encouraged to use the nearby metered parking which is not far from the venue.

General Rules

- Maximum capacity 268 persons. - Event Rental time includes set-up and tear-down time, please accommodate time for these portions of your event. - Damage and cleaning: The renter is responsible for any damage and cleaning of the property. - Smoking is not permitted in the building or garden, all smoking must be done at least 3 meters away from the building. - We kindly ask that guests refrain from offering CecilVenues staff alcohol, and/or cannabis. - A Special Occasions Permit is required if alcohol is to be present during an event. - Outside catering is welcome at any event. - In accordance with City Bylaws, all noise will need to be lowered to a manageable volume by 11:00 PM.

Enhanced Health and Safety Measures

We always set a time allocated for cleaning after events and/or in between events.

Enhanced cleaning measures:

The space is cleaned and disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
High touch surfaces and shared amenities have been disinfected
Soft, porous materials have been properly cleaned or removed
Bookings are spaced apart to allow for enhanced cleaning

All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:

Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
