Our restaurant is nestled in Toronto’s vibrant Riverside and Leslieville neighbourhoods, an area known for its creative spirit, historic architecture, and bustling community atmosphere. Riverside and Leslieville combine a cozy, neighborhood feel with a lively mix of local shops, art studios, and cozy cafés, providing a unique, urban backdrop for any filming project. Our space itself gives the feel of a local, cozy, French café, with bistro chairs and small tables lined up close to one another. Our space offers a versatile layout with both indoor and outdoor space. Here's what you can expect: Indoor The interior features 10 tables: one four-top and nine two-tops - all of which can be rearranged or removed to suit your productions needs. These tables can be pushed together for larger group scenes or separated for smaller, intimate settings. A long banquette runs along the length of the space, along the side wall, and is used for seating. Separating the dining space and the kitchen space is a long bar top, with removable shelves sitting atop. We also operate a bakery takeout window at the front of the cafe, where we serve breads, pastries, and coffee, and would be great for filming scenes involving food/coffee takeout. Ambiance The space exudes the charm of a small, bustling French-style bistro, with warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere ideal for dining or hospitality scenes. French elements like a rooster statuette, French flag, and framed photography of French landscapes decorate the space, but can easily be moved around. We also have a gallery wall of accomplishments and newspaper clippings where our restaurant is featured. Hand written chalkboards featuring the specials hang on the walls, but are also removable. Restricted Areas Access to the the back kitchen, office/storage area, and downstairs bakery can be discussed upon booking; some restrictions may apply depending on your needs. Outdoor Patio The patio includes seven tables: two four-tops that can be split into two-tops, and five standalone two-tops. Like the indoor space, the patio furniture is easily rearranged, except for the wooden bench running along the length of the patio, with a red brick wall behind it. This area provides a charming, al fresco café vibe, especially with greenery and trees right next to it. The patio is enclosed with a clear vinyl cover, with sliding vinyl windows and door. Access Points The restaurant has 3 entrance points: the main front door (on Queen St.), and two side doors (on Degrassi St.). Parking and Transit There is street parking on Degrassi, and a small parking lots belonging to us that can fit approximately 6 vehicles. The space is easily accessible via public transit, with streetcars frequently passing on Queen St in front of our building, connecting to Toronto's downtown core and major transit hubs. Furniture and Props Chairs and tables are included with the rental and can be moved or adjusted as needed. Additional props, such as dishware, utensils, glasses, bakery baskets, table settings, etc. may be available upon request. Bakery items such as breads, croissants, etc. can be arranged to be provided as props if needed. Logistical Details The entire space can be rented for exclusive use, ensuring no interruptions during filming. We are flexible with early morning or late-night shoots, provided we arrange details in advance. Our service hours are Wednesdays-Sundays 8am-3pm. Weekday rentals can be arranged, but the space cannot be rented out on weekends.
