HISTORY OF SPACE: The Oak Cliff Assembly is a historic gem dating back to 1941. Originally built as Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, the space has deep roots in the Oak Cliff community. After decades of use and eventual dormancy, Proxy Properties acquired the property in 2022 with a mission to restore its former glory while creating a hub for creativity and connection. They were able to change the zoning from 'townhomes' to 'theater' which later followed a year-long restoration process. The building now blends its storied past with modern amenities, serving as a space for local artists, entrepreneurs, and community events. NEIGHBORHOOD DETAILS: Situated in the Brentwood Neighborhood, The Oak Cliff Assembly is surrounded by a rich blend of culture and community. Just minutes away from the Bishop Arts District and the Cedar Crest Community Center, you’ll find exciting programming, cozy cafés, unique boutiques, and some of the best local restaurants in Dallas. We're also conveniently close to the Dallas Zoo and the Morrell DART Station, making it easy to explore everything the neighborhood has to offer. The theater can accommodate up to 298 guests, with flexible seating arrangements available. Guests will have access to theater and lobby, while other areas may remain restricted. There are 72 on-site parking spaces (gravel) and 7 additional paved and ADA-accessible spaces, with street parking also available nearby. Public transit is conveniently accessible sandwiched between two DART stations.
