🌸 Floral Boutique Cleaning Policy
Purpose:
To ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers, staff, and fresh floral products by maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines.
1. Daily Cleaning Tasks
Front of House (Customer Area):
Sweep and mop floors before opening and after closing.
Wipe down all surfaces (counters, display tables, vases).
Clean glass doors and windows (spot clean as needed).
Empty trash and recycling bins.
Sanitize the point-of-sale (POS) area, credit card machine, and phone.
Back of House (Work Area):
Disinfect workstations and tools after each use.
Wipe down buckets, scissors, and knives.
Sweep floors throughout the day to remove leaves and debris.
Keep walkways clear of water, trimmings, and clutter.
Empty water buckets daily and refill with fresh water.
2. Weekly Cleaning Tasks
Deep clean all floors (including under display tables and workstations).
Clean and sanitize cooler interiors and doors.
Wipe and disinfect shelving units and storage bins.
Clean bathroom (if applicable): toilet, sink, floor, and mirror.
Wash aprons and cleaning cloths.
3. Monthly Cleaning Tasks
Clean HVAC vents and air filters.
Check for pests and remove any dead insects or cobwebs.
Polish fixtures, doorknobs, and signage.
Inspect and organize inventory storage (vases, supplies).
Review and restock cleaning supplies.
4. Tool & Equipment Sanitization
Florist tools must be sanitized daily and between handling different floral arrangements.
Buckets and vases must be thoroughly cleaned with soap and water and air-dried upside down.
5. Staff Responsibilities
Each staff member is responsible for cleaning their workstation daily.
A cleaning checklist must be signed off at the end of each shift.
Weekly and monthly tasks will be assigned by the store manager on a rotating basis.
