About the Space

The Desert Red Barn Americana Junk Lot is a rugged sprawl of industrial debris, weathered props, and mechanic relics, set against the dramatic backdrop of California’s high desert. At the center sits a sun-faded red barn workshop, its interior crammed with tools, mechanic gear, and authentic junkyard texture. Outside, the grounds overflow with Americana grit — rusted paint cans, tires, vending machines, vintage washing machine, jeep, military truck, boat, wagon, chairs, stacked wood, storage crates, wood chipper, and even a basketball hoop. Behind the barn, a Quonset hut shelters an old van under repair, surrounded by scattered mechanic tools and industrial clutter — a perfect cinematic vignette for character-driven scenes. This environment is fully authentic and un-staged: a working yard of rust, metal, and history. All props and structures are movable, repainted, and redressed per production design needs. On-Site Production Amenities: • Flat shaded staging zones available to productions for base camp and catering setups • Access to power where possible, with courtesy generator available for student films and non-profit shoots • Productions of 20 people or fewer are automatically permitted to use our modern bathrooms and showers located at the main ranch house. • Larger productions must bring their own FilmLA-approved sanitation units. • On-site parking for crew vehicles and grip trucks • Optional basecamp and greenroom area on adjacent property (negotiable) • Lockable 120 sq ft accessory buildings with internet available for staging or production use • Access to main ranch house kitchen and lounge • Day & Night Use approved — golden hour & moonlit looks available Can be combined with other on-site locations (cabins, trailers, forest, vintage cars, saloon, first junkyard, etc.) This is a real working environment — gritty, weathered, and cinematic. This property is a private ranch and residence that occasionally hosts permitted film and photography projects. “ArtFarm Movie Ranch” is an artistic brand identity — not a standing studio or permanent film facility. All productions must carry FilmLA permits and comply with local health and fire codes.

We clean and sanitize all of our spaces between every booking to ensure the health, comfort, and safety of our guests. High-touch surfaces are disinfected, linens are freshly laundered, and each area is reset to a clean, ready-to-shoot standard before every visitor.

Cancellation Policy

Standard 90 day

Guests may cancel their Booking until 90 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 90 days and 14 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Cancellations submitted less than 14 days before the Event start time are not refundable. Learn more

All Bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund for Bookings cancelled within 24 hours from receipt of a Booking Confirmation but no later than 48 hours prior to the Event start time.
