About the Space

This one of a kind Queens apartment is full of charm, inspiration, and is a vintage lover's dream come true. This first floor unit features 6 distinct rooms, each of which hold their own sense of character. Four of these rooms are lined with vintage wallpaper. Baby blue tiles fill the walls of the bathroom. Antique light fixtures - including a dining room chandelier on a dimmer, ceiling fans, door hardware, wood paneling, tin ceilings. It has been thoughtfully decorated with antique furniture and artwork which enhance this apartment’s beauty around every corner. A yellow floral couch sits in the blue front room and a luscious pink Victorian style couch sits in front of the branch filled floral wallpaper. The Emerson piano is available though could lovingly use a tune up (tune for a trade, anyone?). Two large antique mirrors brighten up the front room and kitchen. A large circular wooden butcher block style dining table comfortably seats 7 beside the antique dark wooden hutch. All of the large windows feature vintage lace curtains, some with handcrafted highly detailed lace work. Three bay windows welcome beautiful early morning light into the front room, freshly painted a soft muted baby blue. An original “light well” connects the two central rooms - the dining room and the second living room with floral wallpaper, allowing some natural light in through the skylight from the roof. The kitchen features vintage yellow wallpaper with blossoming lotus flowers and blue butterflies, original wood cabinetry, wood wall paneling, unique vintage laminate countertops, white tin ceiling, a pantry, a darling spice cabinet, and a porcelain sink. A corded land line phone is still installed, though not functioning. Sunset light illuminates the kitchen like magic during certain times throughout the year. Access to the backyard can be found through the kitchen. The private backyard features deep blue painted pavement laid besides yellow and red concrete checkered brickwork. Rose bushes that are decades old with pink and deep purple flowers and blossom twice through the warmer seasons. Vintage wrought iron patio furniture with rose detailing and 2 adirondack chairs are the available seating options. Wildflowers, vines, and other greenery surround the garden. The space is richly textured and thoughtfully curated with love and intention. Ideal for projects seeking themes of nostalgia, femininity, fairytale, Americana, or artist-driven environments. This first floor apartment is only 5 steps up, which is helpful for easy load in and out of equipment. All furniture may be used for your filming purposes, however, several large pieces are not able to be moved, so please reach out with questions about needing to move any larger items. Conveniently located at the border of Ridgewood and Glendale, this apartment is accessible by 2 trains - the Halsey L (20 min walk) and Fresh Pond M (15 min walk) as well as several buses (B13 and Q55). The last person to move into this apartment moved in in 1955 to raise his family. I was the next person to move in in 2024 and for the last year and a half have been pouring my heart into restoring, cleansing and reenergizing this special and blessed space. I’ve been collecting everything vintage from all over the place for as long as I can remember, so when I found this space I was so inspired to design and add to its magic. It has been a labor of love to bring a rejuvenated energy back into this place. I’ve removed the layers of paint off of the door handle hardware, updated the wallpaper in the kitchen (with vintage Vogue wallpaper, like the magazine though I am not sure?), painted the hallway and front room, and given the backyard and garden some much needed TLC. Guests often walk in and ask “Did this place come like this?” and that’s because I’ve designed with great intention and care. This space is my home and I want to share it with other artists who want to make their creative visions come to life. I’ve considered all of these unique elements to come up with my pricing, however, if this price is out of your range and you also feel like my space is a total match for your project, then please reach out and I will do my best to come up with a plan to help you out! I can’t wait to work with you! xoxo, Bailey LIGHTING NOTE: The building is quite old, as is its electrical system. Because of this, the use of certain lighting equipment and higher-powered devices (such as hair dryers and steamers) will overload the system. Please let me know if you plan on using high power lighting equipment as I may suggest renting a generator for smoother production. I have photos of the fusebox to share as well.
