Come check out our beautiful studio space located at the Globe Arts Center! Our corner unit is just a few blocks off beautiful downtown Avondale Estates and populated with other artists! The outside areas are well lit and generally well populated at pretty much all hours by other people so you can feel safe while working. We also have a coded lock on our door which means you don’t have to worry out anyone else coming in the space while you are creating. Aside from safety, there is lots of free parking directly in front of our entrance, a loading dock about 10 feet from our front door, AND garbage dumpsters about 30yds away for easy disposal of trash. Lastly, you are walking distance from tons of restaurants and Banjo coffee if you need to take a break while working! Since my wife and I are photographers, ourselves, we have done as much as possible to make the space as customizable and nimble for your photography/video needs! I would say this space is perfect for any sort of table top shoots, headshot sessions, or fashion/commercial shoots that are 2-3 models. In terms of video, I'd say it's a great spot for sit down interviews or table top product work! The inside space itself is composed of two floors- a 400sq. ft. Bottom floor and a smaller upper floor which is mainly used for storage but can also be used for additional lighting space or to get a higher angled shot. The bottom floor offers an entire wall of 10 ft tall windows which allow for soft, ambient light into the space, and we have also installed blackout curtains which gives you full control of the light. The overhead lights are all on a dimmers or can be turned off completely. Also, the stairwell which is used to access the 2nd floor is moveable so it can be used to get straight overhead shots if desired! Additionally, I have installed a speed rail truss which is accessible from the 2nd floor which allows for lighting to be rigged to save floor space. As you can see in the pictures, we also have two speed rail setups on the walls which allow for a seamless to be mounted on/rolled out. We currently have a 2x 9' seamless at the studio (in white and charcoal) but others can be rented upon request. There is a smaller room off the bottom floor that houses grip and electric and has a long work table perfect for cutting gels, working with any other materials without invading your shooting space. There are outlets on all the walls and they are on separate circuits which allow for many lights to be used (if needed) without kicking breakers. Lastly, we have a small G&E package that of Dedo lights, Arri s60 w/softbox, and 10 Lekos that are included with the studio rental. There is also a private bathroom which can be used for changing rooms as well as a work sink just outside the bathroom. Also, there are 2 8' long work tables that are great for any work you may need to do during the shoot. Lastly, there is a mini fridge and coffee station if you are looking to store some snacks/caffeinate up while you work!
