The High St. Art Gallery is in a circa 1794 house in historic Cambridge, Maryland. This house was originally founded as the town's first hotel and has also been home to a cottage-industry oyster processing business and the Dorchester Art Council. This large home then fell into neglect and disrepair. It was purchased in 2022 by a mother and mother-and-daughter team who reimagined and renovated it to once again be a home for hospitality and the arts. *The High St. Art Gallery is on the first floor of the house and consists of a couple of spaces. *The Porch is wide open and set with a porch swing and a sofa. *The Entryway has a grand, antique mirror brought from Baltimore City. *The gallery Bathroom is attached to the entryway. *The Library is the first room and is painted in hunter green. The oversized mirrors and fireplace lend to a rich, moody vibe and are a favorite spot for photographers. *The Gallery is a white-walled, more traditional gallery space. A non-profit curates the art that is shown in this space. The art changes quarterly. The walls are hand-finished wood set in a subtle checkerboard pattern. There is also a bar available in this space. *The Deck + Patio are accessed through accordion folding doors right off the Gallery. The Patio is made of reclaimed brick discovered on the property and includes a sofa, two chairs, and a large table with eight wooden folding chairs. *The Carriage House is located in the back of the house and is a space available to use for your event. *The Greenspace is found beyond the brick path and can easily accommodate an outdoor event for up to 75 people. On the other half of the first floor is a one bedroom, one bath and kitchen, Guesthouse. This is part of the rental package for any event held on weekend nights or for events requiring the use of a kitchen. (We do not provide food or catering. It's your responsibility to hire a licensed caterer.) Upstairs there is another Guesthouse that sleeps ten people. The whole house can be rented.
