The Gem

Update: The Gem On Hawthorne has recently moved to another location in Portland! It’s in a house instead of a studio (more shooting space!), has all the same vibes, and dare we say even BETTER natural lighting 🤩 The Gem is a beautiful ornate shooting location located in North Portland (Mississippi and Skidmore). Our space is filled with ample natural light, (real!) plants galore, and gorgeous decor. Textures of linen, carved wood, metals, and velvet adorn The Gem. Every angle is thoughtfully designed to ensure plenty of variety and shooting space. There are plentiful jewel tones, neutrals, rich, warm design to utilize as backdrops and several seating options to play with. The Gem is utilized for photoshoots, content creation (YouTube filming, etc), meetings (max seating of 10), etc. *The Gem is not wheelchair accessible. In your inquiry please let us know: -What is this for (boudoir, etc)? -Which aspects of the studio (in the images) are you interested in using? -How many people will be in tow? -Which option are you choosing for your model(s): 1. Arrive with hair and make up already completely done. 2. *Rent usage of our salon space (on site) for hair and make up: $150 for 2 hours 3. *Book our in house HMUA Renée (discounted rate. normally $365): $275 (No charge for salon space usage if you’re booking Renée for your hair and makeup needs. We will reach out to you privately and let you know what time to arrive for this add-on.) *Shooting space will remain *closed* until HMU is finished. HMU Artist and model only permitted during glam. Photographer & other attendees are permitted when the booking begins.* Thank you!
