This beautiful home is well maintained and was completely remodeled in 2022, both inside and out as well as all new picket fencing and landscaping and became available as a short-term rental in 2023. The home presents a charming aura of the elegance of the Victorian era. Built in 1895 by prominent citizen D.O. Judy for his new bride, the home's architecture is Queen Anne in design with a wraparound porch, fish scale siding, gingerbread trim, bay windows and a steep roofline. It is painted in a "Wedding Cake" color scheme- white with a "Whitest White" trim and iridescent blue fish scaling and the same blue around the windows to make them pop. Ginger breading is painted white with accents in metallic gold, bronze, copper, silver and pearl that adds a stunning interest to the features. The front door is original to the home and is painted a rose color that is left weathered. The home is situated on a corner and has a picket fence on two sides with privacy fencing on the other two sides. There are three rose covered arbor entry points. Scented gardens of lavender, sage, rosemary, jasmine, roses and citrus provide a space to enjoy. Furnished with period antiques the home is warm and inviting. It is like taking a step back in time in a fresh sense. The home has the characteristic Victorian accoutrements- high ceilings with crown molding throughout, detailed trim and doors with intricate brass doorknobs. The interior color scheme is fresh and bright with "Feather White" (soft grey/almost white) walls and "Whitest White" trim. As you step into the "Front Parlor"/Living Room you may be halted in your steps. It feels like stepping through a time warp into a bygone Victorian era. There is a certain warm, welcoming feeling despite the obvious elegant furnishings that surround you. The room is colorful with textures in furnishings of gold, burgundy, blues and greens. 100% of the time, when people enter this room all they can say is "Wow! This is amazing!". The living room is large, approximately 15 x 22. The flooring is a narrow plank 1920's white oak that has been refinished and there is an area rug that is handmade Persian, pre-Iran Tehran, that is stunning. Furnishings date to the mid 1800's. There is a fireplace, although it is not functioning. Two large pocket doors separate the Front Parlor from the Gentlemen's Parlor. In the Gentleman's Parlor we wanted to reflect a sophisticated yet cozy place to just sit and relax. The walls are painted in a warm historical color- Burnt Umber. Most men who have visited ask where the whiskey is and cigars. That tells me I hit the mark! However, this is a non smoking home. The Men's Parlor is masculine with leather high back chairs, a cowhide rug, a 1920's Belgium carved armoire, a large carved desk and an antique revolving bookcase that dates to 1865. The windows are clad in privacy shades with lace curtains over them. (and yes, lace in a Gentlemen's room works- it's "Victorian" ;-) ) In the "Ladies Parlor"/Sitting Room off the Main Hallway and Master Suite is another gorgeous handmade rug from Tehran dating to the 1970's that has been a part of a private collection. It has never been used until 2023. In this room the flooring is the original to 1895 fir flooring. This room has a large bay window and lots of light that floods the room through additional windows. Furnishings are antique with a love seat and two side chairs in the Queen Anne Victorian style. There is a sideboard, a game table and a fantastic old radio that dates to 1927 that works! The windows are clad in privacy shades with lace curtains over them. Two pocket doors separate the Ladies Parlor from the "Queen's Boudoir"/Master Suite. The room is large and is fit for a Queen, furnished in antique elegantly carved French, mid 1800's, Brazilian Rosewood furnishings that include a beautiful bed with two side tables, a large armoire and a dresser. The color scheme is a soft palette of creams and golds with soft rose and muted green. There is a large bay window with two chairs and a table that floods the room in western exposure light. The windows are clad in privacy shades with lace curtains over them. The Master Ensuite is clad with wainscoting of marble and mother of pearl. It has heated marble floors. There is a pedestal sink and a claw foot bathtub that is situated under a large, gold, intricately carved antique mirror. The room is an unexpected, pure luxury surprise. A beveled leaded glass window with western exposure allows for afternoon sunlight to stream a rainbow prism of color into the room. The Dining Room is furnished in American Golden Oak antique furnishings. There is a beautiful carved, lit display case with glass shelves, two ornate sideboards and an unusual carving embellished dining table with six chairs. The flooring is narrow planked 1920's white oak flooring with a black, burgundy and gold rug. There is a large still life painting with an antique carved wood frame that adds dramatic color. The room is approximately 13 x 15. Directly off of the Dining Room is the "Garden Bedroom", given its name by the beautiful black background floral loveseat. The room is predominantly white with black accents. The furniture is antique Embellished Carved American Golden Oak that consists of a bed a dresser, a nightstand, a dry sink and a secretary bookcase. The floor is the original to 1895 fir flooring with a beautiful black, burgundy and gold rug. The windows are clad in decorative privacy shades with lace curtains over them. The Garden Room Ensuite has heated marble floors in black and white in a traditional basket weave design. It has a marble shower and pedestal sink. The kitchen is bright with French doors that open onto a small porch. A large picture window allows for light to flood into the space. Upper cabinets are white with soft baby blue lower cabinets and stainless appliances. Counters are grey black and white flecked granite with black tile trim. The floors are a lively black and white patterned tile. Dainty lace window coverings, a stunningly beautiful heavy American Golden Tiger Oak sideboard finish the room out beautifully. The Laundry room is out fitted with new appliances and is sweet with the dainty lace window coverings and same black and white patterned flooring. 72 Films was our first production company to book the space. The home is conveniently adjacent to the historic downtown district that consists of world class restaurants and interesting shops, two wine tasting rooms, a brewery and parks. All are within a one-minute walk. Winters is a charming, historic farming community that has become a Go-To destination place. Two lakes with close proximity offer fishing, boating, kayaking, bird watching, hiking and bicycling. Outlaying farm stands offer a relaxed place to picnic, to experience "U-Pick" and the surrounding farming. Wineries and breweries in the outlaying farming areas provide a place to sit and enjoy the scenery of oak studded hills.
