Welcome to The Boxie Studio! This multi-set, mix-and-match studio features a life sized Doll House, ball pit, seamless with 15+ color options, as well as an abundance of props to use with our white wall– a 10ft x 14ft blank space to make your own custom backdrop for photos, videos, or live productions. Lighting equipment, video monitor, plus beautiful natural light from our floor to ceiling loft windows are all included with your booking! The Boxie Studio is located in Downtown Los Angeles, available for photography and film production, events, performances, parties, workshops, and more! PRE-MADE SETS: The Doll House: A life size, 2 story doll house made up of 5 rooms! *NEW* “The Booth Box” - Run music, lighting, or call your cues from our hidden booth. Located on the top floor of our Dollhouse, your technician or stage manager will have an excellent sightline to every corner of Boxie. “The Garage” - a pop art blue space complete with moped, tools, and vintage signage “The Victorian” - red and black washroom with a tub and secret overhead door for aerial shots by candlelight “The Retro” - purple neon bedroom space with TV, retro tech, and cozy beanbag “The Reading Room” - green and gold classy sitting space with plenty of reading material “The Powder Room” - The perfect pink and white “get ready with me” space. This box is a completely functional dressing room as well, with layered blackout curtains if you’re looking for a private changing area. Featuring glamor station, makeup chair, clothing rack and mirrors. The Ball Pit: This queen size pink and black ball pit is adorable and way too fun! With the plexiglass framed walls you can shoot from a side view or use our equipment to shoot overhead and more! White Wall: Make your dream backdrop come to life with a blank canvas. Seamless with 15+ color options is available for use. Assistance with seamless setup is available as an add-on to your booking! Plant Window: Who doesn't love a loft with natural light beaming through hanging plants! We have that! Including the bumper of a real car… at least the front half. Lofted space with plenty of natural light surrounded by hanging and potted plants and ivy. The perfect spot for all the flower kids. Including the final resting place for an old blue ford… or at least the bumper. AMENITIES: • Bathrooms (these are shared but not open for public) • Air-conditioned/plenty of fans and great ventilation with the loft windows! • Elevator/Freight elevator. We are located on the 4th floor. FAQ's: • Does my booking give me access to all the sets? YES, everything we have listed and shown in our reference photos is included in your booking. We also encourage our guests to customize the space in whatever way suits their needs best. • Is there natural light? Yes! We’ve got 2 massive walls of floor to ceiling windows that bring in stunning natural light! There's 4 main window panels 8ftx10ft. • What's the best time of day for the sunlight? Our windows are East facing, the light is great all day until after sunset BUT for that classic sunlight shining through the windows vibe you'll want a morning shoot! • Is there a video of the studio? Yes! We have plenty of video tours and photos on our Instagram @theboxiestudio so you can see more details there! • Is your studio wheelchair friendly? Yes! We are located on the 4th floor, there is a small elevator and also a freight elevator that is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, second floor spaces within the dollhouse are not accessible. Please let us know if you need any assistance prior to the booking so we can best accommodate! • Is the studio sound proof? We unfortunately can't escape the beautiful sounds of downtown LA traffic, sirens and random fireworks. If you need to record audio we definitely recommend lapel mics and good sound equipment. • Can you black out the windows? Yes, however we encourage you to book a night shoot for optimal darkness. • Is nudity allowed? We're okay with implied/semi nude shoots, however absolutely NO explicit adult film. SECURITY CAMERAS: There are security cameras in the space. RULES: PLEASE read these rules thoroughly, we really appreciate your cooperation! A Boxie Studio staff member will be on-site during your booking to help answer any questions. • Event organizers MUST sign a waiver upon arriving • Your booking hours INCLUDE your set up/pack up times, please allocate enough time for your production to be completed at the end of your appointment • Please return the studio to it's original condition by the end of your booking. We take pride in our presentation so please be considerate and handle our items with care. If you leave our studio in shambles there will be an extra cleaning fee added to your booking. • No Smoking/vaping allowed indoors • No animals, service animals allowed please notify us prior to your booking • We reserve the right to end your booking at anytime and/or pursue extra charges if any rules are breached Our sets are very detailed with some elements that require specific rules. For your safety PLEASE ensure your entire group abides by our set rules. Doll House Boxes: • Please use PURPLE stairs to reach 2nd floor • DO NOT jump/pull up or climb structure • 4 person MAX on 2nd floor • PLEASE watch your head! For your safety please stay in the front half of the top squares Ball-Pit: • NO jumping/diving • NO liquids/body oils/glitter/lose items • DO NOT push on the side walls • 3 person max RENTAL HOURS - Your rental hours are the TOTAL TIME for studio use including set up and break down. If your group arrives early and wants to enter the studio that is considered overtime. Please be prepared for your whole group to exit the studio by the end of your appointment, not after. We keep a tight schedule and will have to charge overtime if your group have not wrapped and exited within your booked hours. ALL RENTALS must return the studio in the condition it was when you arrived. We encourage you to play but please be mindful when moving props! There is a re-setting fee of $50-$100 if the condition you have left the studio in at the completion of your booking does not meet our standards. All equipment/props/backdrops must be returned to their original place within the booking time. You will be charged for any damages, missing items and extra cleaning services. For any substances that require extra cleaning we charge an added cleaning fee of $100. NO SMOKING/VAPING of any kind inside our studio! - there is a $250 fine. This is California state law. There are multiple No-Smoking signs, which we've noticed people don't always read but please... don't smoke in our studio. No illegal Activity - fines apply and we have the right to remove you from the premises. DAMAGES - You will be accounted for any damages to the space / items and charged for the value of each item damaged. INJURIES - We are not liable for injuries No Glitter/Confetti, pigment, sand, powder, sticky stuff, oils, paint or any lose substance without first notifying us, and having a proper art dept in place. For any substances that require extra cleaning we charge an added cleaning fee of $100. No minors under the age of 16. Unfortunately we are not able to safely accommodate children in our space. RESCHEDULING Bookings may be rescheduled up to 24 hr hours prior to the start time without penalty. If rescheduling within 24 hrs of your Booking, a $100 fee will be charged. We cannot accommodate if you are running late for your booking, we cannot push back start times because you are late! Allow enough time for set-up/breakdown during your rental hours. Please be mindful of your time and other clients that need the space! We understand the nature of a busy day in LA and how people can be late to an appointment, just please let us know, via Peerspace message or through the contact listed. If you're running more than 15 mins late and don't provide any prior communication, we have the right to consider you a "no-show" after the 15 minute grace period. Late booking who reach out to us can still be given entry to the studio. Our team can provide remote access to the studio within 30 minutes of your booking time. We want to help you have the best event possible, so please communicate with us so we can ensure it's a smooth show!
