Decentered Studio is a 1,700 sq ft artist-run meeting and workshop space in the heart of SoMa. Designed for teams that thrive in inspiring environments, the studio blends the character of a 1920s factory loft with the warmth of a contemporary arts space. It’s perfect for offsites, creative strategy sessions, team retreats, design sprints, and small meetings seeking a change of scenery. Our flexible layout includes tables, chairs, a projector, Sonos sound system, comprehensive PA system, and kitchenette — everything you need for a productive, comfortable, and memorable day together. The design blends minimalism with warmth — colorful art, plants, and soft lighting create an inviting and grounded atmosphere. All the furniture are vintage pieces of various eras lovingly curated by the team. Interior paint and staging were done with support from interior designer Matthew McCaul Turner and local artist Julianne Roberts-Hansen. The entrance features a mural by local muralist Pablo "Raíz" Arroyo @pablitosomthing and the bathroom is an installation by local artist Cole Skaggs @superxfancy. Wall art is a rotating curation of local artists. Decentered Studio is operated by Decentered Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building community through art of all mediums. Your rental directly supports our free and low-cost programs — including a weekly open mic, a songwriters circle, visual art exhibitions, dance workshops, and creative coworking for local artists.This space is like home to us and we encourage you to make yourself at home as well.
