Some spaces just hold you differently. The Elm Loft is that kind: raw brick, concrete pillars, original wood floors, and factory windows that pull the outside in. The space is a real, lived-in artist’s loft in the heart of Deep Ellum. Not a staged commercial studio, but a working creative space with an authentic, moody aesthetic built in. Exposed textures and lush greenery give it a raw, editorial feel that reads well on camera without extra dressing.
Ideal for portraits, boudoir, headshots, personal branding shoots, editorial concepts, or small-crew video work that wants a genuine industrial loft backdrop rather than a sterile studio look.
On-Site Host & Entry Assistance:
I will personally be on site to greet you, assist with entrance, and help your shoot get started smoothly, no fumbling with lockboxes or codes. I will also be available on-site to help with moving any furniture or assisting with equipment from the studio, so your team can focus on the shoot.
A Note on the Elm Loft Dogs:
This is a lived-in loft, and my two dogs live here too. One of them, Wednesday, was born deaf, often a favorite detail for clients who love a quiet, expressive animal presence in the background. Both dogs are sweet, well-behaved, and willing models, and can be kept in a separate part of the space during your shoot if you’d prefer a pet-free session: in the studio if you’re shooting in the loft, or in the loft if you’re shooting in the studio. Just let me know your preference when booking.
Layout & Areas
The loft operates as several distinct zones that flow together:
• Main living area: oversized caramel sectional conversation pit, and electric fireplace, with curated artwork, lighting, and live greenery throughout. Works equally well for shooting, lounging, or talent holding between shots.
• Dining area: long communal table seats up to 14, fully equipped kitchen alongside it.
• Built-in photo studio: dedicated separate room, rare to find in a warehouse loft, with brick walls, professional lighting setup, backdrops, and tethered dual-monitor editing station already in place. Walk in and shoot.
• Window nook: dual hanging hammock chairs, live plants soaring 10-feet high, and massive factory windows on both sides. One of the most photographable corners in the space.
• Bathroom: spacious and private with dual sinks and mirrors spanning the full length of both walls. Includes a glam room with a lit vanity, full-length mirror, and 360 hair-mirror. Ideal for talent prep, wardrobe changes, and touch-ups between shots.
