Artist Retreat near Lake Michigan

This property features a four-bedroom house on 5 acres that will serve artist of all kinds, community members and neighborhood children with workshops and opportunities for creating work, developing ensemble, exploring leadership and other issues that affect successful collaborations. The space will be available for individuals, groups large and small to meet and retreat for health and creativity, to celebrate special events and there will be limited opportunities for informal theatre, dance and music performances. Director Susan Padveen, a long-time Harbor country resident and Chicago artist and educator, looks forward to guests enjoying the peace and quiet of the area as they develop work, administrative structures and get a little r & r. The house has a large event room, wood panelled with sound and projection capabilities, a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, living room and screened porch. There is a gazebo and a separate cabin and bathroom. An above ground pool is perfect for summer months. Lake Michigan is a five minute drive away, as well as restaurants and small grocery and bakery stores. BAR is right off the 90/94 expressway, close to New Buffalo and Michigan City in Indiana. There are catering companies and liquor stores nearby.
