Step into the Retro Electronics Lab just 9 miles east of Downtown LA. This period-appropriate, high-tech environment blends racks of vintage electronics, microscopes, soldering stations, spare parts, and functioning oscilloscopes to create an organic workspace perfect for mad science, hacker energy, or authentic laboratory scenes. This fee covers both the site-rep (who will be onsite to assist and monitor during your rental) and the post-shoot cleaning of the space. Scouting We offer complimentary 30-minute scouts prior to booking. Let us know when you would like to come by, and we will find a time that works. Equipment Rules All electronics, tools, and parts on display are considered in-use and must be handled, powered on, or moved only by the site-rep. Any damage or missing pieces will be billed as damages. We recommend scouting to confirm what is available, as specific pieces cannot be guaranteed. Furnishings & Props The lab includes technical shelving, desks, and courtesy props such as spare parts, monitors, and circuit boards. Items are provided as-is and may change between bookings. If you do not see or test it during your scout, do not count on it being available on the day of your shoot. Gear Available Rent where you shoot and save time on transport. We offer cameras (RED, Sony, Blackmagic), cine lenses, Aputure lights, Litepanels, Quasars, grip gear, hazers, and more. Reach out if you would like a full gear list or have specific requests. Additional Amenities Shared breakspace area, restrooms, tables, chairs, refrigerator, microwave, sinks, and make-up mirrors included. Private air-conditioned holding spaces and production offices are available the same day at $50, $100, $250, and $500. Inquire for details. Overtime Policy Peerspace requires 1.5x overtime for any hours beyond your booking. For example, if your hourly rate is $100, each overtime hour is billed at $150. We encourage booking the hours you anticipate needing in advance. If you contact us at least 24 hours before your shoot, we can extend your booking at the base rate to avoid overtime.
