Cupid's Cottage

"Cupid's Cottage" was born out of my love of COLOR, romantic floral patterns, kitsch, and vintage finds in interior spaces. It is made up of 3 different spaces (another one coming soon!) in our home. Yes, this is not a studio or warehouse space - it's an actual home with REAL interiors full of character and cozy warmth. Every corner of each of these spaces/rooms provides a unique backdrop for your creative project and was lovingly designed and created by the owner (me!), with the utmost attention paid to all the precious details. We're excited to share these spaces with other creatives! THE THREE SPACES: SPACE #1 - RED/PINK BEDROOM: Inspired by the Moulin Rouge, kitschy 60s and 70s decor, the movie "The Love Witch", and most recently my visit to Madonna Inn in San Louis Obispo, this room is unlike anything you'll find in the greater Atlanta area. It is the perfect location for boudoir, couples, Valentine's Day, Halloween shoots - anything you can dream up! Notable features & props: beautiful vintage vanity with stool (including vanity props such as handheld vintage mirror, brush, etc), gorgeous king-sized bed (with plenty of room for posing), satin and faux fur covered plush pillows, and ornate fabric tufted headboard. One corner has a beautiful deep red velvet armchair that can be used for posing as well. The vintage side tables and dresser have been hand-painted in vibrant shades of Chinese red and magenta with brass hardware - these pieces are one-of-a-kind! Faux branches adorned with roses and gilded cherubs hanging above the vanity is a show stopper! There are also 6 large, gorgeous homemade faux cakes to use as props! SPACE #2 - BLUE/GREEN FORMAL LIVING ROOM: This room was inspired by historical Baroque, Victorian, and Rococo interiors with a 60s slant. Notable features: piano, cello, fireplace, vintage and velvet drapes, faux flowers and vines, vintage furniture, gilded accents, hand stenciled "wallpaper" statement wall, and more. This room is maximalist and romantic, yet could also be used as a spooky backdrop for your haunted Victorian concepts! There's so much potential for a wide variety of creative ideas (maybe a family portrait around the piano!). Additional props available in this space: ornate and jewel adorned gold cake stands and sheer fabric for draping. (You would need to bring your own cakes). SPACE #3 - COVERED AND OPEN-AIR OUTDOOR PATIO: This space was inspired by 60s Polynesian decor, tiki bars, classic monsters (we have our own Creature from the Black Lagoon!), and groovy outdoor lounging. With a backdrop of bright pinks, orange, and chartreuse, and layered in lush curtains, you will feel like you’re on a tropical vacation! Notable features/props: glassware and cocktail shaker set props for faux drinks and a wooden altar “bar” with hand-carved angels. LIGHTING: All of our spaces will need additional light to adequately light the space. We have two continuous panel lights (that can be changed to all colors of the rainbow for creative lighting effects!) as well as two lights with 40" softboxes for your use that come free with your booking. Feel free to bring your own lighting equipment as well. Please see "Lighting" section below for more info on available light in each space. NOTES: If you see a date that you are interested in but it's not open on the calendar, please reach out. We might be able to open it up for you. Also, please note that we do not rent these spaces individually. You are booking the house per hour and it's up to you to book enough time to cover what areas you want to shoot in. Please be aware that your booked time *includes* load-in and load-out. Please book accordingly. There is a bathroom attached to the RED/PINK BEDROOM that is currently not photo-ready, but you are of course welcome to use it for makeup and hair touch-ups, etc. You will also have access to the guest bathroom when you book our home. We are a non-smoking home (cigarettes in listing photos are fake and used as props). Designated smoking area available outside. Pro-tip: Be sure to bring a variety of lenses to capture a variety of close and wide shots as some of the spaces are on the small side. Please reach out if you have any questions!
