What works well in this space:
The Studio is designed for creators who need full control of their environment — ideal for filming, music videos, photo shoots, interviews, podcasts, live sessions, and private performances. The all-black interior gives cinematographers and photographers complete command over lighting, making it perfect for moody visuals or stylized brand shoots. The built-in music stage and full sound system make it equally suited for live recordings, rehearsals, or content capture for artists and performers.
Layout & flexibility:
The main floor is approximately 17' x 38', including a corridor-style entry that leads into the open production area. The space is typically staged as a modern lounge, complete with movable furniture that can be rearranged or removed to fit your setup. The stage area can serve as a live performance zone, interview set, or backdrop for stylized content. The resin flooring gives the space an industrial edge while remaining clean and camera-ready.
For productions that need a little extra privacy or prep space, access to a green room can be arranged (based on availability).
Unique features & amenities:
- All-black interior with zero natural light — ideal for full lighting control and consistent film conditions.
- Dimmable and concert-style colored lighting (RGB and solid options).
- Full sound system with overhead speakers.
- Power access every 8 feet on walls and ceiling outlets for flexible setups.
- Keypad entry for convenient crew access.
- Wi-Fi included for streaming or production needs.
- One restroom for crew use.
- Furniture available (couches, tables, etc.) for staging or filming.
- Optional green room access upon request.
The Studio is located in Hermosa Beach’s M-1 light industrial district, surrounded by other creative and production-oriented spaces — a cabinet maker to the north and an art gallery to the south (which can also be reserved for larger productions). The conditional use permit for this property is for a "digital capturing studio" which means that most use cases indoors do not require a film permit.
