Acerca de Mecca Ridge

Privacy and breathtaking desert views define this secluded 1958 homesteader’s cabin and grounds. Set on 5 private acres on a dirt road, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath mid-century cabin is perched atop a dramatic ridge with 360° panoramic hilltop views of the Mojave Desert—an exceptional setting for photo shoots, film productions, creative retreats, workshops, and intimate events. Mecca Ridge offers a rare combination of rustic authenticity and modern comfort. In addition to the main house and expansive outdoor spaces, the property includes a two-story red barn, providing an additional character-rich structure ideal for staging, photography, gatherings, or creative use. Originally built in 1958 and expanded in the late 1970s, Mecca Ridge is a mid-century sanctuary with original textures, natural materials, and abundant light. It’s especially well suited for artists, brands, wellness leaders, and small groups seeking a visually striking, secluded environment. The cabin sits along a steep ridge and is surrounded by native desert landscape, wildlife, and cacti. Guests and crews should be mindful when moving about the property, particularly with children. Wildlife sightings are common and may include bighorn sheep, deer, bobcats, coyotes, birds of prey, jackrabbits, roadrunners, and desert insects—adding to the authentic atmosphere and sense of place. Despite its seclusion, the location is conveniently close to major area highlights: 10 mins → Big Morongo Canyon Preserve 12 mins → Yucca Valley 18 mins → Pioneertown 20 mins → La Copine 25 mins → Joshua Tree National Park 30 mins → Palm Springs 30 mins → Integratron Living Room Vaulted wood-beam ceilings, artillo cement tile floors, oversized picture windows with expansive desert views, a 65” smart TV, and a wood-burning stove. Excellent natural light throughout the day. Kitchen & Dining Area Ranch-style kitchen with filtered water, modern appliances, coffee bar, and a mid-century furnished dining area. Doors open directly to the deck and outdoor patio, allowing for seamless indoor/outdoor flow. Views from every window. Primary Bedroom Vaulted wood-beam ceiling, cement tile floors, king bed with plush euro-top mattress, Tempur-Pedic pillows, quality linens, ceiling fan, and mountain views. Secondary Bedroom Full bed with luxe mattress, Tempur-Pedic pillows, quality linens, mountain and valley views, and individual A/C unit. Bathroom Modern tiled shower with planet-friendly hand-poured soaps and essential amenities. Deck Expansive redwood deck with lounge seating, café lights, a tipi-style daybed, and sweeping views of hills, wash, wildlife, and open desert—ideal for golden-hour shoots and sunset gatherings. Outdoor Patio Dining table with seating for 6, propane BBQ, bubbling stone fountain, potted cacti, and wide-open mountain and valley views. A frequent stop for hummingbirds. The Land (5 Acres) Unspoiled desert terrain bordering a private nature preserve and BLM land. Multiple natural paths lead around the property and into the wash. Terrain is uneven and unpaved, with loose footing and cacti—appropriate footwear and awareness are recommended. Popular uses include sunrise/sunset sessions at the meditation rock, stargazing, fire pit gatherings, and scenic outdoor games along the ridge. Two-Story Red Barn A standout visual element on the property. The barn adds rustic scale and versatility and may be used for photo shoots, staging, creative work, or events and retreats, subject to prior agreement. Guest Access *Guests will have access to the main house, red barn, outdoor spaces, and full 5-acre property *Free parking for several cars in the driveway *Single-level home with no stairs upon entry *Laundry room available (cold wash only) *Easy self check-in with keyless entry Important Notes Rustic & Remote: This is an authentic desert homestead, not a luxury venue. The charm lies in its simplicity, history, and natural surroundings. If you’re seeking a sleek or highly polished environment, this may not be the right fit. Desert Environment: The Mojave is wild and untamed, with high winds, rain, temperature extremes, and native wildlife. Encounters with insects and animals are possible and part of the experience. Guests should keep doors closed and remain respectful of the environment. Safety: Due to steep terrain, uneven ground, cacti, and wildlife, children must be supervised at all times.
