Resurrect Desert Studios is a private 277-acre high-desert production location in the Pioneertown area of Southern California built around several things that are difficult to find together in one location: **drones are allowed, Pioneertown Road passes directly through the property for filming cars and motorcycles driving by, mountain biking and action filming are available on existing desert routes, dark skies provide excellent conditions for astronomy and astrophotography, and Moonpad Production Basecamp provides utilities and production support.** The property offers expansive open terrain, mountain backdrops, rugged desert roads and trails, elevated viewpoints, minimal light pollution, very little surrounding noise, and a high degree of privacy. This location works especially well for: * Drone and aerial cinematography * Automotive and motorcycle filming * Filming cars and motorcycles driving by on Pioneertown Road * Mountain biking and action-sports filming * Astronomy, astrophotography, and night-sky photography * Film shoots * Music videos and artist content * Commercial and branded productions * Fashion and editorial photography * Landscape and lifestyle content * Documentary and wilderness filming * Productions requiring a private desert basecamp, trailer staging, utilities, or technical support ### Drone Filming **Drones are allowed.** The scale and terrain make the property particularly well suited for drone cinematography. Crews can capture open desert, mountain terrain, roads, moving vehicles, mountain bikers, action sequences, and long-distance landscape perspectives. A dedicated **Moonpad Drone Launch Area** is located near Pioneertown Road with nearby high-speed WiFi, electrical power, and water. Drone crews can park at the marked area near Pioneertown Road for convenient access to the launch area. ### Drone Filming Area Drone operations must remain within the filming area shown on the provided property map. The map gives pilots a clear reference for the area available for aerial filming and helps keep operations within the boundaries of the location. Within the mapped area, productions have access to a large variety of terrain, elevation changes, roads, open desert, mountain scenery, and perspectives for aerial cinematography. ### Film Cars Driving By on Pioneertown Road **Pioneertown Road passes directly through the property**, creating an unusual opportunity to position cameras on the surrounding private land and film cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles driving through the high-desert landscape. This works especially well for automotive content, motorcycle shoots, commercials, music videos, travel content, and aerial drone cinematography. The combination of private filming positions and a public road running directly through the landscape allows productions to capture natural driving sequences with desert and mountain backdrops. ### Mountain Biking & Action Filming Existing desert roads and trails provide routes through open terrain, foothills, and mountain areas suitable for mountain biking and action filming. Crews can position cameras at different points along the routes, film from elevated terrain, hike alongside the route, or incorporate drone cinematography. The property provides opportunities to capture riders moving between open desert, rougher trails, foothills, and mountain terrain without leaving the location. Some routes can also be accessed by production vehicles. Vehicle capability varies by route, with some areas accessible by 2WD and more rugged mountain routes requiring high-clearance or 4WD vehicles. ### Dark Skies, Astronomy & Night Shoots The remote high-desert setting offers **minimal light pollution and very little surrounding noise**, making the property particularly attractive for astronomy, astrophotography, long-exposure photography, night-sky time-lapses, nighttime film production, and other work requiring darkness and quiet. The open horizons provide extensive views of the night sky, while the mountain and desert terrain can be incorporated into foreground compositions. The combination of privacy, darkness, quiet, open horizons, and large acreage gives photographers and productions substantial flexibility for nighttime work. Sunrise and sunset also provide dramatic natural-light conditions across the property. ### 277 Acres of Private Desert The property includes wide-open desert flats, natural vegetation, existing roads and trails, rocky foothills, mountain terrain, and elevated vantage points. A mountaintop viewpoint provides sweeping views across the surrounding high desert, including the Sawtooth Mountains. Different areas can create dramatically different visual environments—from minimalist open desert and long horizons to rugged foothills and elevated mountain landscapes. The size of the property provides productions with substantial separation, flexibility, and privacy. ### Moonpad Production Basecamp **Moonpad** provides infrastructure and technical support for productions working throughout the property. Available production resources include: * High-speed internet / WiFi * Electrical power * Water * Generators * Extension cords * Hoses * Tools and technical support * Compressed air * Workshop facilities * Welding equipment * Drill press * Workbench and vise * Gantry crane * Additional equipment, utilities, and services by request The adjacent Desert Workshop makes it possible to support productions that need more than a remote piece of land. If your project has particular electrical, mechanical, fabrication, communications, utility, equipment, or other production requirements, please ask. ### Wagontrain Production Basecamp Productions bringing equipment trailers, production vehicles, support vehicles, or larger crews can use the **Wagontrain Production Basecamp**. The large loop-style staging area provides room for multiple production vehicles and trailers, with space for trailer parking, circulation, and turnaround. Available basecamp utilities include: * High-speed WiFi * Electrical power * Water * On-site sewer connection A small production-support trailer with a private restroom may also be available and can potentially be repositioned along existing dirt roads closer to a filming area. The basecamp makes the property suitable not only for small self-service shoots, but also for productions that need a place to stage vehicles, trailers, equipment, crew support, and technical resources while working in the surrounding desert. ### Access, Driving & Parking This location is designed to be flexible and largely self-service. Vehicles may drive and park throughout accessible portions of the property using existing roads and routes. Guests are **not restricted to a single parking area**. The **main access road is shown in green on the property map** and provides general driving and parking access through the main portion of the property. Drone crews may park at the marked green area near Pioneertown Road for convenient access to the Moonpad Drone Launch Area. Road conditions and vehicle requirements vary throughout the property. Some areas can be accessed with standard 2WD vehicles, while rougher trails and mountain routes require appropriate high-clearance or 4WD vehicles. The property maps identify the primary access routes so productions can plan how they want to move people, cameras, bicycles, vehicles, and equipment around the location. ### Self-Service & Privacy Productions are generally left to work independently and without unnecessary interruption. The location is designed so that small crews can arrive, access the property, and conduct their shoot with a high degree of privacy. At the same time, support is nearby when needed. Host assistance is available upon request for directions, vehicle access, high-speed internet, electrical power, water, utilities, workshop support, tools, generators, extension cords, hoses, trailer coordination, and other production requirements. This provides the independence and privacy of a remote desert location without giving up access to infrastructure and production support. ### A Real High-Desert Environment This is genuine high-desert wilderness. Terrain is unpaved, conditions vary seasonally, and native wildlife—including snakes and coyotes—may be present. The landscape is intentionally maintained as a natural desert environment rather than a conventional developed studio lot.
