2 stars out of 5. The Good: Billy was responsive throughout the booking process and during the day. It was easy to enter the building and to allow our team in as they arrived. Plenty of office items/needs were on hand: wifi, poster sized post-it sheets, regular post its, markers, pens, etc.. We used Peerspace concierge services, which was great as they provided healthy options and delivered to the space before we arrived. The kitchen allowed us to store drinks easily.. The loft is directly across the road from Contraband Coffee, making for quick/easy coffee runs. The Bad: There was roof construction going on right above us throughout our booked time. Billy didn't mention this until I arrived. Signs inside the building elevator noted that construction had been ongoing. The hammering was so hard at times that scattered debris fell from the ceiling onto the floor, couch and table of the communal space as well as our food. Billy was quick to reach out to the site manager and requested that they not work above his loft, and they did stop for a while, but they returned later. I had to roam the building to find a way to the roof and ask them to stop. Billy also mentioned that the water may be turned off after I arrived. It turned off for about 45 after lunchtime, which made the bathroom/toilet unusable. This caused some discomfort. The upper loft space was not usable. Billy also mentioned this as I arrived. My team spent a majority of our time in the conference room space, but given the debris across the communal space and the upper loft not being usable, the option was not available for the group to break off and utilize the space. Small aesthetic note: the large white board has a large crack along the right side from bottom to top. Billy should had given us ample notice regarding the building construction, possible water outage and the upper loft instead of notifying me as I arrived. At that point, we had no option but to use the space. Very unfortunate given the generally positive reviews. If you are considering booking this space, please make sure that building construction has concluded and that all rooms, including the upper loft, are available to use. Billy mentioned a refund when I called him regarding the construction but I have not seen a refund of any amount since we used his space. We wouldn't return, and based on our experience I don't think I could recommend.
Billy's Crib was perfect for what we needed - a spacious area where we could invite individual customers for 1:1 meetings. The space is convenient to downtown, large, and is well-kept. Billy was extremely helpful both before and during our event - on call, accommodated our needs/questions, etc. The only thing I could recommend is having a sort of visual (camera) at the door to the building, so you can see who you're letting in -- with food deliveries and customers and colleagues, it can get a little confusing when buzzing people up since you can't speak to them. However, this may be something the actual building could invest in, and not a reflection on Billy. He had everything else you could possibly need for a smooth event - from a place to store drinks to cords you might need for hooking up visual equipment to post-its.
Billy is fantastic! He is super responsive and the space was even better than advertised. I didn't realize how much space we would have! Our team of 10 didn't even use it all. We stayed in the front area using the white board and projector more for some sprint planning. It was perfect! Thank you, Billy!!! Can't wait to come back! Maybe in 90 days or so when we're ready to sprint plan again!!
This was our second time and Billy is absolutely fab to work with. He text'd me a day before to remind me and went beyond out of his way to even let my exec team in 10 minutes early before the space rental started. This space is awesome and so perfect for a team of 15 for a day's planning. Billy, keep up the VIP customer service :)
Billy was an exceptional host. Kind, attentive and very helpful. The place is fantastic! We had a really good day brainstorming as a team! Billy also had stocks of extra supplies and refreshments! Will definitely book again! Thanks Billy.
