Located in the Design District/Showplace Square on Utah Street, the gallery is situated among numerous cultural institutions in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. Approximately 4000 sq feet of usable space, divided between our main and side galleries. Concrete floors, open floor plan, and backdrop-appropriate white walls throughout the space; full kitchen and 2 bathrooms suitable for dressing room space. Additional rates available: Daytime: $3,00 (Sun/Mon, 10 am to midnight) Buyout: $7,500 (any day, full day) About our gallery: Established in 1991, our gallery exhibits contemporary artists whose work is socially engaged. A range of media is represented including painting, sculpture, works on paper, and photography. The gallery has pioneered the presentation of new media art in SF, and is the first gallery in the city with a dedicated media room.
Certificate of Liability required by the applicant in the amount of at least $2,000,000.00 naming our gallery as insured. The renter is responsible for any damage to the artwork should it occur. Capacity Specifications: -150 people over the course of a shoot -100 people maximum at one time All start and end times are inclusive of set up and clean up. Due to the high cost of closing the gallery during daytime hours, rental prices are higher before 6 pm from Tuesday through Saturday. Rates available: Evenings: $1,800 (Tues-Sat, 6:30-midnight) Daytime: $3,000 (Sun/Mon, 10 am to midnight) Buyout: $7,500 (any day, full day) Refundable cleaning and security deposit prices vary by rental fee.
My wife and I held our wedding reception at the Gallery. It was a wonderful space and a wonderful experience! CC and her team were extremely helpful, easy to work with, flexible, and supportive. The space was lovely and made our evening really special. Highly highly recommended!!!
The experience at the Design District Gallery Space was amazing! We are a french association and we hosted our annual party for the first time in a Gallery. The place is spacious, confortable, well-equipped for the caterers. I liked especially that we had several "rooms"for our guests. And the team is phenomenal! so helpful, so easy to work with, made our event very easy to organize because they were very open to our requests and very responsive. I really recommend this place and will book it again for sure!
This was a great space to host our company's annual reception of our clients, prospects, and vendors. The host worked well with our caterer and the process was easy. I would definitely book this place again.
