It is just beautiful, with grand rooms, and 12 foot ceilings. The grand space is full of gorgeous original art, fine furniture and oriental rugs. At least some of the furniture has changed since these pictures were posted. The rate shown is for up to 20 people. More are allowed at a rate of 100 per person. Please plan to clean up after yourselves, or cleaning services can be provided for a fee if necessary. No using showers, or getting on or inside beds FOOD AND BAR *Beverages: License required. *Outside catering is allowed with prior approval. ADDITIONAL TRASH FEE A cleaning fee is included in all full-day rentals. An additional fee may apply for excessive trash removal at Host's discretion. Guests are encouraged to take all trash upon end of booking to avoid this fee. LOAD-IN TO LOAD-OUT Included in booking rate. Please coordinate with the facility manager for any and all drop offs and pickups THE DAY OF the event. An additional fee per day will apply for any load-in and load-out outside of date of the booking. RESTRICTIONS: *No nails, screws, staples, tape or gummed backed materials may be used to attach or affix anything to the furniture, walls, or building. *No glitter or confetti of any kind is allowed on site. *No sparklers, Roman candles, or fire producing gags or effects. *No face painting, hand paints, stains, or other similar activity allowed. INSURANCE: Additional Production Insurance is required and may be obtained through Eventhelper.com. Please list the host as additional insured. DOOR MANAGEMENT: High-traffic Productions (ie: large groups or rentals with multiple people cycling in and out during the evening) will require someone from the Guest's team to help manage building access. EARLY DROP OFFS & LATE PICKUPS: Early drop offs of equipment outside normal booking hours may require an additional fee per scheduled appointment. IMPORTANT: Please consider your setup and teardown needs for the evening and factor time into your booking accordingly. Thank you.
Guests may cancel their Booking until 90 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 90 days and 14 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. This space is amazing! The pictures really don't do it justice. We rented it for a small video shoot and had so much to work with. Very spacious and beautiful detailing. It is fantastic as is, but as another reviewer had mentioned, it would be a whole other thing if it ever were fully restored. Would definitely recommend this space and would rent again.

The home is amazing and I wish we had more time to utilize more of it. We were only there for a few hours for a meeting. I would love to see it restored to it's glory days. It would be wonderful for a family reunion where everyone could stay in one place or something like this. We had fun cooking out team lunch together in the kitchen. EJ was very responsive and accommodating.

The Victorian House is elegant, well-furnished and has nice artwork and other decorative treatments. The host, however, was difficult to work with, because he chose to book 3 events (including my event) at this property that were within 1 to 2 hours of each other. The result was that cleaning was not completed by the time my rental began and cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaners and brooms were still in the main corridor after guests began to arrive. The host knew that the booking of these events so close together would be problematic as he asked me (once my booking and payment were complete) if I would allow his cleaning staff to clean upstairs during my event. As I paid the full hourly rate of $300 per hour (even though I only needed the first level of the house), I told him that we did not want cleaning staff to be walking through the parts of the house that we were using. He became persistent and demanding about allowing the cleaning to take place, saying I did not appreciate how large the venue was, that it was unlikely I would hear the cleaning staff, etc. It was a very unpleasant experience dealing with him.

The house was an extraordinary space for our event. There are lots of rooms and spaces for people to gather as well as a large salon that held 20+ people at once in a circular format. It is beautifully appointed with amazing art on the walls. The neighborhood is a "transitional" Oakland neighborhood. It was surprising to find such a magnificent restored historic house in a neighborhood that has a mixture of funky places but also other large historic homes. We did feel safe in the neighborhood and the house is gated. And it is a quiet residential neighborhood. The host was great to work with and communication was easy. I would use this house for just about any large event.
