We host professional, personal, performance + popup events: workshops, offsites, classes, weddings + receptions, meetings, screenings, popups, bridal + baby showers, parties, filmings, conferences… pretty much any event you can imagine that works in our venue size and aesthetic. Our 1,500 sq ft venue comfortably seating 30+ at tables, 50+ as an audience, and 75 standing. Click here to see our pricing, which includes the amenities listed below. Amenities: 1) A kitchenette+island with plenty of counter space and full-size fridge, + blender, toaster, microwave, crock pots, warming plates, serving platters/utensils, wine & cocktail glasses, and a coffee/tea setup, 2) vintage upright piano, 3) Up to 3 living room areas in various configurations or 2 living rooms + 1 food area, 4) portable standing whiteboards, 5) a projector with 108″ portable screen + a 60″ plasma TV (HDMI-compatible) 6) (70) stackable chairs + (10) dining-height tables of varying sizes for dining/catering/display, 7) (4) “highboy” (pub height) cocktail tables, 8) and a bluetooth-enabled surround-sound speaker system. We are BYOB and open to all caterers/vendors. We have a wonderful bartender you can hire if you need her! Our space is located in the Bucktown/Humboldt Park WOW (“West of Western”) district, in between two blue line stops (Damen and Western) and off two major bus lines (Western and North Ave). Ample (free!) parking along North Ave and side streets.
HOUSE RULES In addition to accepting our damage policy, THE CLIENT AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING: 1a. Do NOT sell alcohol to guests (any alcoholic drinks must be bundled with a pre-purchased ticket, or given freely) as TLR does NOT have a liquor sale license and is BYOB; ⋅⋅⋅1b. Do NOT give alcohol to minors; ⋅⋅⋅1c. Do NOT take open alcohol outside onto city property; 2a. ALL outside decorations must be approved, and NO use of glitter, confetti, etc. is allowed. ⋅⋅⋅2b. General balloons on strings are fine, however please pop them on site and dispose of them or take them with you, do NOT release outside; ⋅⋅⋅2c. NO loose/un-tethered balloons. 3a. Do NOT bring in outside sound systems or microphones (unless pre-approved for DJ equipment); 3b. Overall noise/music (as shown on Sound Level Meter device) must be kept BELOW 85 decibels; 4. Do NOT exceed 75 guests at any time; 5. Do NOT go into the TLR back rooms (marked "private: do not enter") or backyard unless there is an inarguably clear emergency; 6. Do NOT move furniture or decor without first receiving permission (we can move stuff for you!), and return all moved items to whence they came; 7. PLEASE wash all TLR dishes used and leave them in the dish-drainer (please leave them to dry and do NOT put them away); 8. PLEASE leave trash bags & recycling in designated areas + flatten cardboard boxes before wrapping up; 9. PLEASE lock the deadbolt on TLR's door before exiting, leaving the keys through the mail-slot or in the lockbox; 10. Lastly, PLEASE abide by any House Rules & Checkout List received by/before the day of the event (which may replace/update terms in this here version). In general, we at TLR expect reasonable, common-sense behavior from our hosts/their guests, and they should expect the same from us! We had a fantastic, relaxed and super creative team offsite at this location! The host was so helpful, provided a lot of extras and had fantastic catering recommendations. I loved the place and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!!! Also easy parking situation and lots of nice cafés and restaurants in this area. Thanks so much for this successful day! Amazingly unique space, customizable layout, felt very homey. Everyone commented on how great of a place it was. The hosts were very responsive leading up to our event and lent a hand setting up too!
Keith and Marcy are great hosts. They let us arrange the space as we needed. The space is great for large groups and kids. There was also plenty of serving plates, utensils, and bowls for us to use. The large buffet table is perfect for at least 5-6 large trays of food. They are kind of strick about the sound and has a decibel reader which was hard to keep below 85db at times. The active cameras also creeped out some of our guests as they saw it moving around watching the party. But overall we really liked the space and would probably rent again.
Keith was an above and beyond host, making sure that we were comfortable and had all of our needs met from the moment we arrived. And the space is seriously incredible, there are plants everywhere and soft sofas to ensure the most comfortable experience.
