We warmly invite you! We have been referred to as a 'Renegade Theater' and told we are 'Old San Francisco'. Often guests compare us to their favorite Brooklyn or Berlin style Art lofts. Our space features a huge 1300sqt sprung dance floor/stage with new Marley Flooring, which is Black/White reversible. Our west facing wall of windows lets the natural light in all day & in the afternoon it streams beautifully across the walls. The studio mirrors span 30ft by 8ft and we have 2 portable ballet barres. For an additional rental; there are a few in-house strobes, modifiers, backdrops, stands, tripods and other theater lights . However, feel free to bring your own gear. Our studio is equipped with amenities such as: a utility sink in the bathroom & a vintage (yet fully operational) claw foot bath tub with an over-head shower attachment. Please bring your own towels if you think it may be necessary for your booking. This unique gem located in San Francisco's newest up & coming artistic industrial neighborhood Dogpatch nicknamed by some recent gallery developers DoReMi (Dogpatch/Potrero/Mission). A high quality selection of scrumptious restaurants and cafes within walking distance (just a few short blocks). Our favorites: Marcella's Lasagneria, Neighbor Bakehouse, Hard Knox & Yield Wine Bar. Public transportation: MUNI 3rd Rail stops across the street @Marin St & 3rd MUNI lines 22, 19, 48 have nearby stops Caltrain 22nd St Station a few walkable blocks away Biking? 10-15minutes to Mission and/or Downtown. Commuting? By car we are very close to both the 280 and the 101 freeways off ramps. FREE all day street parking. No meters or time restrictions.
The studio when booked As-Is must be returned to the condition it was when entered. That means All trash removed. If it is not removed by the end of your booking, additional charges start at $150. Any furnishings/props returned to original location, extension cords &/or lighting gear put away properly, along with a quick sweep of the dance/stage floor of any debris. On the Marley Dance floor: please no street shoes, open containers or food. The Marley flooring is very pricey to replace and thus we would prefer not to charge anyone for damage fees. While we are very open to nearly everything you may wish to do, we do have some basic rules: Please Absolutely No Fire or Smoking in the studio or anywhere inside the building. A general common sense attitude about use of space. Ask first. Please send us specific details about your bookings, photoshoots especially if there will be any type of oil, powder, food, paint, or other potentially messy elements involved during your time here. Communication is KEY! Our legal capacity is 49. Alcohol allowed with a temporary permit. Feel free to contact us about the rules to obtain one. Any events over 20 persons require our personal staff on hand at a rate of $25 per hour

I am so thankful to the folks at Daylight Dance/Little Boxes Theatre!! Really wonderful folks that put a lot of care and concern into how they hold the space for visiting artists. They were so nice/sweet/wonderful to me and my students and extremely flexible with time and tech. Will most def be finding my way back there in the future!
What a great and flexible space! Aaron and Kitty were fantastic hosts. I held a 40 person leadership seminar there, and they worked closely with us to make sure the space fit our needs. They had a sound system that was already set up and they helped us secure an additional bathroom with a neighboring business. The place has a lot of artsy character and is somewhere I'd definitely be willing to use again.
