THE SPACE Great for a group of up to 25 people, the space offers an all-in-one space where you can hold your meeting or planning session, break for a brief walk to nearby Ballard eateries or breweries, then enjoy a special turn-key teambuilding session, creativity or innovation workshop, or special customized life-sized games. Our flexible 600 square foot space with a view of the canal is just right for your next effective meetings, strategic planning session, retreat, workshop, and team offsites. Configure our tables and chairs, use the whiteboards, log into our wifi, and present your vision on our 43” monitor or projector (available by arrangement). Your rental includes the use of a separate reception room where you can hang coats and staff a welcome/check in desk, use of our kitchen area, and - if it is not out on tour - some interactive play time on our Picture This Interactive Game Wall. The view, the colors, the Giant Dice, and the game-like checkerboard floor all comprise our innovation-inspiring play space, where we create all types of learning, engagement, and training games, exercises and activities. Part of that inspiration is the South View that looks out onto the canal and Fisherman’s Terminal docks where you might spy a fishing boat from the Dangerous Catch series. Learn the special signals that raise and lower the Ballard Bridge and watch vessels large and small glide under the opening arms of the Bridge. This industrial building was built in the 50’s (we think), and is solidly built with that 70’s industrial olive feel and matching his/her’s symbols on the minimalist bathrooms entrances. Availability is subject to other space uses. While other space uses are rare and we really, really try to accommodate next day or fast-turnaround bookings, the space may already be in use. You get 30 minutes of setup and takedown time but please be sure to select a start and end time that accommodate setup and strike. Occupation and vacation must occur at the selected times, and time where the space is occupied will be charged at 1.5 times the rental hourly rate in one hour increments. Enjoy the space and leave it as you found it. The space must be returned to its original setup and condition. We provide one 50 gallon garbage bag for your trash and another for recycling. All food waste and anything over these amounts must be brought offsite by you, or we can arrange to take care of it all for extra fees. No smoking or vaping in the space, and because we read it elsewhere - no pyrotechnics or open flame without all kinds of hassle and permits. Don’t go there. You are liable for all equipment and persons entering or leaving the space. Any and all equipment that is damaged or broken will be replaced at full retail price. And who wants to pay retail? Caterers are welcome, but must get in touch with our host 7 days before the event and must provide their own insurance and business license or they may not be able to access the space. Last minute catering may be accepted, but we reserve the right to charge a fee for handling your catering company logistics. Parking is available on the street, depending on the activity in the neighborhood. Given Seattle parking madness, we suggest you carpool. Parking is available in some lots a short walk away, and we can help you coordinate that for an extra fee. You, the renter are solely responsible for the actions of your staff, vendors and guests at all times, and for any damage to any part of the facility.
The space was as advertised, and Rob was great at following up whenever I asked anything. He was also readily available whenever needed, and it was nice to have coffee and water cups readily available. While there were many creative parts to the room that we didn't use, the space looked like a great resource for fun team activities. I wish there had been more information about how to actually find the room. Rob came down to let us in as soon as we called, but the outside of the building has no indication that there is a meeting room inside and the Peerspace page didn't mention that it would be difficult to find. More signage or information prior to the session would have helped with this. The space was very cool, but not ideal for a team whiteboarding session. There were occasionally noises from the bridge area that made it difficult to hear, and one of the whiteboards barely erased. Still, it was spacious for our group of 15 and it was nice to have the sunshine and water view from the room. For more creative and fun sessions, I'd totally recommend this space! It was nice to be within walking distance of Ballard, perfect for post-session hangouts, and Rob was great to work with.
