This upper level, 2-story, 2200-square-foot classic loft was recently renovated to preserve its utilitarian charm, and featured in New York Magazine. Built in 1876, the structure was once a firehouse and an Armory Hall. Today, it's a live/work space with soaring 19-foot ceilings, large skylight that ensures even light through the day, massive floor-to-ceiling windows facing east and west, original hardwood floors, a private guest bathroom, and an abundance of impeccably preserved original details. A very unique home that's perfect for entertaining or screening events with a gorgeous great room, gourmet kitchen, and ample seating with a formal 12 foot dining table. Tastefully decorated with a mix of mid-century modern classics and antiques. The space consists of a -- (1) great room with 19 foot ceiling with the skylight above it, (2) open dining area that seats 12, formally, (3) open kitchen with a bar, (4) separate office area on the east side of the loft (great as a client-holding or greeting area), and the upper level. We do not rent out the upper floor. LOCATION: Located in the Fort Greene neighborhood. There is street parking but also a parking garage right behind the building. Sanjs'a place is as good (if not better) than the pictures portray: large, airy, light, beautifully finished and great for filming, thanks to the diversity of angles and camera positioning locations. What's more, she's super easy to deal with and handled our last-minute request with great professionalism. I would definitely recommend the Firehouse, and I hope to have an opportunity to come back.
Amazing! Beautiful location and to be honest the pictures dont even do the space justice. The place is designed really well and just offered a ton of variety for our photoshoot. Sanja and her partner were super cool, sweet & gracious as hosts and were very flexible with every request we had about moving things to accomodate our shots. Highly reccommend them and this space! We could not have been happier. Thank you!
This is a beautiful space with great light, which worked perfectly for our shoot. A host was on site to assist, but did not impose in any way and left us free to work. We loaded in from the street and parked in a lot just around the corner, which was very easy. But be prepared to carry gear up two flights of stairs!
Was really happy to get to shoot in Sanja's beautiful space. They were kind about letting us use items as props and overall great to work with. Recommend shooting here!
