I just had an amazing 3 day live-stream training in my home town of Alameda, CA. Normally I would have shipped 5 cases of training material to Las Vegas, booked the hotel, rented a car, and eaten bad restaurant food for 5 days. All this for a 3 day in-person training. This time, I chose to stay in town and live-stream my training with the help of the amazing peeps at the Live stream Training Facility. They set the space up with professional live-stream training in mind, and did a wonderful job. The training room is about 20 x 20, light filled, and designed with comfort in mind with plenty of space to layout my boxes of training materials, my computers, my notes, etc. The view from the training room (my view) was open on 2 sides to a park like setting—a corner office with huge windows, a relaxed view of couches and lounge chairs, beautiful art and OPEN space. The setting behind me…a white board and classroom view (for my students). I had the use of a large iMac and my workshop participants were on the computer monitor right in front of me. I could see everyone in my class and it was brilliant. I was worried about connecting with my students over the internet—not to worry at all it turned out. The video streaming during the training was amazing. I was professionally “miked” with a wireless mic and monitored throughout the 3 days to guarantee a good quality video of the training. Bandwidth was great. The tech support anticipated my every need and offered additional support for recording, breaks, framing shots, etc. Full disclosure: although editing was not included in my package, I paid extra for a chat person and tech support this first time, and I’m so glad I did. They have done this so many times, and it made all the difference for me walking in as a total newbie to online streaming. The owners have thought of everything to make the training easy. A mini kitchen, fridge, microwave, coffee makers, hot pot for tea, and large counter space that would accommodate a small buffet if needed. They were both there in the office suite with me for all of the training days, and they are quiet and busy working in their own office, which is next to the training room. All of this in a safe and secure office close to the Oakland Airport. This experience was one of the most relaxing training experiences I have ever had and I know all of my participants could feel it as well. The feedback they sent starting day one was so clear to me—they loved the training, loved being able to use their home/work office and take the training without traveling, and how much easier the whole thing was for them as participants! The sense of calm that just seemed to take over for everyone---for 3 amazing days. This is now my go to space for training. And making it work for me and my students via an online live-stream event has completely changed the way I train! It was so much easier (and SO much less in cost and time) to stay in town and train online. Thanks guys!
