50 years is not very old to call it historic, but the Case Study House from 1963 is an important example of Mid Century Modern Architecture. Part of the Post World-War II Case Study House program, sponsored by the influential "Arts & Architecture" magazine, it is the only one in the Bay Area. All other remaining homes - about 15 in total - are located in the Los Angeles area, with the Eames House (#8, built 1949) and the Stahl House (#22, b 1960) as the most well-known ones. The home's large open floor plan, deck and outdoor area are well suited for offsites and social events. Living, dining, breakfast rooms and kitchen can accommodate several type of events and setups, with a capacity of 16 seated, 30 standing. All spaces except the master bedroom are available for use. All rooms have direct access to the enormous deck - perfect for hanging out, catering, or simply enjoy the sweeping views of the China Camp State Park. The 1-acre garden can be used for outdoor activities. It has a horse shoe pit. See the floor & site plan. Please contact me to discuss different setup options. I absolutely love shooting in this house. It’s a beautiful location and the host is fantastic. My crew and I have filmed here a number of times and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great home location to shoot in.
Alfonso and Cord were great. Very responsive, organized, and easy to work with. The space is very unique and exactly what we were looking for. It was clean, well kept and overall an enjoyable space to work in. We were filming a video here and everyone involved, including our clients, commented how great the space was. We would come back again.
Cord and Alfonso were very kind hosts. They check in frequently before the trip. Our team very much enjoyed the space. What was not clear were the house rules. I suggest have a house rules/information book with emergency numbers, clean up, etc. We weren't sure where to throw out the trash and what was required in terms of clean up.
