600 square feet of antique wood floors and soaring ceilings in an artists' industrial building in the heart of Gowanus. Beautiful minimalist loft space with big windows, white walls, and fully outfitted for 12 yoga students (mats, bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets). Easily fits 12 yoga mats. Also a great space for workshops, lectures, educational seminars, one-on-one healing or bodywork. Stunning, very comfortable iron-framed sofa with linen cushioning. 10 folding chairs. Large rectangular folding table can be set up "conference style" or folded to the side for an open floor. Fridge and water filter. Open, airy, spacious feeling. Also private. Feel free to play music! *For the winter months: the heat in the studio works very well but is also noisy. It takes 15 minutes to warm up the whole space for several hours. I suggest you warm up the room before your event begins. If you leave the heat on, be aware that it will make a blowing noise, and the sound/ blowing will turn off and on intermittently.
Rental timing includes set up and clean up time. Leave the space how you found it. Clean any utilized yoga mats with the provided spray cleaner and paper towels. Wash any mugs or jars in sink station down the hall (passed the first bathroom). Put away all yoga props as you found them. Vacuum floor before leaving. Refill water filter before leaving. Take your trash out. Do not leave anything in the fridge. No alcohol. No smoking. No animals. Do not move the sofa. Unplug the hotpot, microwave, and toaster. Turn off heat or air conditioner. Turn off all lights, including entrance light (switch behind ladder). Lock the doorknob by pressing button before leaving. Lock the deadbolt before leaving. Place keys in a sealed envelope that says "Ruthie" and slide under door to Suite 205.
Ruthie is very nice person with prompt responses. The space is great and spacious as described. The squeaky sounds from hallways and the ceiling might be a little concern to lead meditative classes. Overall, wonderful experience!
