Hi there! This space is truly a hidden gem in the East Bay. The Creative Space is 750 square feet of beautiful exposed timber, brick, and concrete that has been recently renovated. We've hosted many special events and celebrations of all types and we're happy to work with you and customize the space to fit your specific event needs. We have seven handcrafted designer tables and table seating for up to 30 people at a time. There is also additional bench seating around the venue for more capacity. Weekday (Monday - Friday afternoon) hourly rate is $68/hour! Weekend rate (Friday night through Sunday night) is $96/hour, as listed. The Creative Space supports local artists and features gorgeous handcrafted tables, fine art, and decor...all created by local Bay Area residents! We provide a Bluetooth speaker system, wireless LED colored lighting that you can customize to your color scheme, a home cinema projector and wallscreen, smart locks, Amazon echo, and a high-end laptop. There are 14 outlets spread around the venue as well. The Creative Space is located in the West Berkeley neighborhood. West Berkeley is an up-and-coming part of the East Bay that is full of young families, artists, and technology companies. There is street-parking available, both metered and non-metered...and best of all the venue is extremely accessible from the freeways and highways (right of I-80!). Weekday (Monday - Friday afternoon) hourly rate is $68/hour! Weekend rate (Friday night through Sunday night) is $96/hour, as listed. Only the host of the event may use the tenant-only private parking. You are responsible for removing all items you bring into the space, including garbage and recycling. Basically, we operate a "leave no trace" policy. We will clean thoroughly before you rent so that is sparkling upon your arrival. We will take care of a full cleaning after the event, but ask that you remove anything you've brought in. You may bring in any food you like. You may bring your own catering service as well. No live music. You will be responsible for any significant damage done to the facilities or products in the space. Normal wear and tear, however, is not a problem.
Ben and the space was great! He was there right at set-up, explained the amenities very clearly, and even helped with moving the tables. He was very flexible with decorations and how we wanted to set things up. He was also available during the event if we needed anything. The space was great! Everyone kept commenting on the decor and the artwork. I would definitely book again. Thanks Ben!
Wonderful process from start to finish! The host and his brother (who also runs the space) were very communicative and helpful- even helped me carry some items in to the space from my car! I was given a thorough tour of the space when I arrived and was shown how the technology (projector/ sound) worked. The space was gorgeous and worked perfectly for our group. We had a speaker give a presentation and served light refreshments, with around 40 people in attendance. I would definitely book this space again!
I could not have imagined a nicer venue for my 60th birthday party! Ben and his brother Andy were completely accessible to answer our questions and arrived during set up to help us move tables, connect to the wireless system, adjust the lighting, etc. The space was warm and inviting for the party. I absolutely loved this space!
We had a great experience with this space. We held a 40th birthday cocktail party here, and we got a ton of compliments from guests about the space. It's beautiful and really well-maintained, and has all the amenities you would need for any type of event. The hosts were there to greet us and help us figure out where things were and how to use the light and sound system. They were available as needed by phone throughout the event, and checked in on us halfway through. We will definitely recommend this to friends.
The location was great. It was a January rainy day, but it heated very quickly. The person who opened it was there a few minutes early which helped. It has a shared bathroom which was stocked and clean. Lots of amenities and seats with plenty of table space. This was my first booking, so I wasn't sure about leaving it unattended. We waited for 20 minutes but no one returned. I did note it had a remote control lock on the front door and I left a voicemail for the manager.
We loved this space... it was perfect for a small work party for 22 people. Our staff / guests had nothing but positive comments about this venue. Thank you, Ben.
I love this space! I facilitated a Women's Circle to celebrate the Winter Solstice. The space is very warm, inviting and has an intimate setting. Ben and Andy (total sweetheart!) are great hosts, making sure I knew where everything was and that my event would be a success. During the event, I realized that I would need an extra half hour. When I texted they responded right away and were very accommodating. Thank you! I really appreciated that! There is a lively restaurant next door but the sound wasn't anything more than 'white noise'. I'd definitely book again!
Such a beautiful space, very open. Super accommodating for our office holiday party. When we had issues with our audio, Andy was able to come by quickly and fix the issue. All our attendees loved the space and had a great time. Parking can be slightly difficult but well worth the space. Thanks again!
