Located in a historic building near 1st Avenue and Yesler Way, our professional photography studio is 600+ square feet of light filled space in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Originally built in 1892, the building features 12 ft ceilings, exposed brick, and original hardwood floors. One charcoal grey wall, one white wall. Ideal for natural light photography & video shoots, but also works great for classes or professional meetings. Your rental time includes a private bathroom, kitchenette, and wifi. You will also have use of the furniture and make up station. Please note that we are on the second floor and there is no elevator. Close to the ferry terminal, light rail station, street car station, and multiple bus lines. The brick wall with the windows is just over 16ft long.
Other renters may have reservations directly after your scheduled time, so please be sure to reserve enough time for break down and clean up. You must reserve enough time to clean and vacate the space by the end of your reservation. Our calendar is very full and you cannot infringe on the next renter’s time. There is a substantial fee if you run into another renter’s reservation. Staying longer than your reserved amount of time without permission will be charged at 2.5 times the hourly rental fee in 60 minute increments. If you need to add on more hours to your reservation, email or call us to see if the studio will be available- if it is, we will be happy to extend your time. It is important that the studio be left in the condition you found it and ready for the next renter. Prior to leaving the space, all table surfaces must be wiped down, dishes clean and put away, kitchen counter wiped, coffee pot clean, garbage sealed and put in green bag in bathroom shower, bathroom wiped down, floor swept, lights off, windows closed. Cleaning and damage fees will be charged if the studio is found in disarray or excessive damage occurs. Fees will vary depending on the cost of time and repair. Lost Key Fee: $400. We have several long term renters so one lost set means that everyone's set has to be replaced. Our studio is located in a professional building with other offices. You may not disturb our neighbors with excess noise or impede the building’s common spaces. No open flames / incense.
This is a great studio space with beautiful light and super clean! Communication was extremely smooth! I will definitely rent this space again when in Seattle!
We loved using this space for our photo shoot! The light from the windows was beautiful. The clean, open space was well stocked with chairs and couches for props. We'd use this space again for sure!
This space was perfect for my sessions! The light was beautiful, it was clean, and I appreciated the make-up area. I love that it has a private bathroom. The furniture was easy to move around. And last but not the least, the hosts are gracious and easy to work with!
It's a nice space, as long as you have your own lights, but therein lies the problem. I'm a natural light shooter and booked it because it advertised "Gorgeous Natural Light." When I arrived, this was not the case. The owner (who was 5 minutes late to let me in) showed me that there was now scaffolding and a black mesh construction safety net covering all of the windows (not photographed in the ad), killing about half or more of the natural light. This really threw a wrench in my shoot which I had traveled all the way from Chicago to do. Had they just let me know about the lighting situation, I could have rented some lights down the street at Glazers. They've since noted this in their listing and are offering a 10% discount, but this was not the case when I booked the space. So as long as you know that you can't use available light from the windows (it was a decently sunny day when I was there), and you have your own lights, you should be good. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
