At the geographic center of Greenwich Village stands an iconic 1920's building 15 stories high. Clearly visible to the street on either side are two terraced apartments. But the building holds a secret: Above those apartments, set back from view is one of New York's hidden jewels. The door from the top floor landing says T. It opens to a gallery and a stone spiral staircase. Climb and you find yourself in the tower library of a Florentine palazzo, a luxuriously furnished, sun (or moon) lit space surrounded by gardens giving 360 degree views of Manhattan. The space is unmistakably lived in but it has been shared for photo shoots, business meetings, luncheons and dinners, weddings and other special events. The indoor/outdoor space can accommodate 100+ guests. The indoor space alone can easily accommodate a party of 40. And on the Fourth of July you can reach up and touch the fireworks
The Space wants to accommodate your needs and we try to keep 'rules' to a minimum. When you use it, use it as if it were your home. Tell us what you plan and, if you need help beyond the space, we'll do our best to make sure your plans are realized.
This location is great, Alan is great. The two balconies have breathtaking panoramic views of the city. I proposed to my fiancée on one of those balconies and it went perfectly (Alan even pretended to be a friend of a friend so I could surprise her). It was the start of a truly magical night - I highly recommend this location. My fiancée loves NYC and she loves a high-rise view, and she said my proposal couldn’t have been any better.
Magical venue! Alan's home served as a beautiful backdrop for my fiancé and I's engagement party. There's no shortage of event spaces In New York, but for our tastes, most are too corporate, or industrial, or just nothing special...but not Alan's place! From the spiral staircase, to the evocative art adorning the walls, to the terraces that offer 360 degree views of Manhattan, it really is an extraordinary place. Additionally, Alan brought a staff with him (for an extra fee) who did a remarkable job. If you use the venue and you're serving food and drinks, I highly recommend paying more for the staff. Thank you again, Alan, James, and co.!
Alan’s home was magical and made my proposal a fairytale for my fiancé. He was an amazing host and his suggestions made the evening even better. Hope to be back soon! Thank You Alan.
Our event at this space was amazing. Alan is a kind, gracious host and it was a true pleasure interacting with him. The space is absolutely gorgeous, with not only incredible views, but lovely works of art on all walls. We are so happy and grateful to have been able to host our reception here!
My experience in working with Alan Lechner and his beautiful Penthouse home in the West Village was simply a joy from beginning to end. Alan was a pleasure to work with and provided me with the perfect guidance and advice for our company's cocktail party with our top 75 clients and supplier partners. There was plenty of space for the caterer to set up and produce an elegant event on a perfect Fall evening overlooking Manhattan from sunset through nightfall. I simply cannot recommend this unique space highly enough.
Alan is wonderful! His space is even more breathtaking beautiful in person and is perfect for a party. I held a surprise proposal/engagement party here with 35 friends and family. It was just perfect. I could not have asked for a better location. Thank you Alan!
Alan was extremely accomodating and shared a lot of experience when it came to setting up our event. The view is something of critical acclaim in Greenwich.
