Please let us know your event details and we will get back to you with a quote. *** To reiterate, a 50-person wedding weekend will require a larger venue rental investment than a 15-person dinner party. Thank you for your understanding. Now then... Welcome to our magical “cabin in the woods” - right in the heart of Los Angeles, located just off I-5 and the 2 Freeway. Memorable, lovable and secluded. Surrounded by almost a 1/2-acre of trees and nature! You’ll discover irresistible charm indoors and out – vaulted ceilings, corrugated metal walls, built-ins, skylights, a wraparound porch, an outdoor shower, a fire pit, a sprawling yard with plenty of outdoor space. You'll be struck by the amount of space hidden behind the privacy fence, and the countless trees! The property is shaded by many 75-100' tall pecan trees, a gorgeous mature pepper wood tree (perfect backdrop for your outdoor soiree) and countless other trees and shrubs, mixed with varied open areas with different looks, feels and textures. The cabin offers an idyllic backdrop for creating a festive and fun mood for any kind of special event. The space inspires creativity, joy and community. Stepping into the property can sometimes feel you've been transported from the urban feel of Frogtown to being somewhere else... it doesn’t feel like you're in LA! The cabin is styled with fun textiles and pops of color. The outdoor space has many different zones - a large green yard, a substantial cement slab (20x30 feet - perfect for outdoor seating, entertaining, setting up a stage, etc), a fire pit, and a wrap around porch. Hummingbirds flutter near the bushes, lizards catch sun on the deck and squirrels race around the treetops. It’s a good time here. So...whether you're connecting with friends around the campfire, toasting a special occasion, or leading colleagues in a workshop - this memorable location is versatile and offers a wide range of possibilities for your special event. Logistics: HOURS Events such as weddings that use outside vendors will require a full day rental, and possibly a Load-in or Load-out Partial Day rental. Smaller events may require fewer hours, but remember all of your vendor deliveries must occur during your booked hours or additional charges will occur - include all set-up and clean up during your booking hours. Next day vendor pickups will require compensation to host to arrange accommodation. PARKING Valet or shuttle service will be required for larger groups, because this is a residential area. Street parking: There is usually plenty of street parking available nearby. However, be mindful of street cleaning on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:30-1:30. Read all signs! And of course, do not block any neighborhood driveways. There is typically plenty of parking on nearby Ripple Street. Large offsite parking lot: Just 90 seconds away, there is a very large parking lot for larger-scale events. You can shuttle your guests to your event, or possibly arrange a valet (not included, of course). We can provide the contact information if you are interested. Do not block neighboring driveways. Host not responsible for any damage to vehicles while on or near premises. ACCESS If agreed, you will have access to the entire interior and exterior of the house, with the exception of a locked owners' closet and storage shed. The lot is over 20,000 SF and the cabin is 1071 SF. SETUPS There are many areas and opportunities throughout the property, indoors and outdoors, to meet your needs. - Catering may be set up in the kitchen. - Music/DJ may be set up on the deck, central to the property, or in the yard at various locations. - A large, open air concrete area may be used for a ceremony, setting up tables/chairs for a meal or buffet, etc. - There is a large eclectic/rustic patio that surrounds a fire pit and supervised campfire may be arranged - terrific ambiance! This walkway, and the property in general, calls for flat shoes - no high heels please! - There are large, shaded grassy areas for assembling a temporary dance floor, or setting up a game of horseshoes, corn hole, Giant Jenga, etc. - Various pockets exist around the property, surrounded by shrubs and large trees to create different experiences if your event features a variety of booths, activities, etc. - Your guests can relax on the wraparound wooden deck, under the covered porch, or soaking up rays on the open air deck. Pine adirondack chairs and love seat, table, etc. are located on the porch and several comfortable colorful adirondack chairs are available for relaxing. For more rustic seating, several wood stumps are scattered around the property, near the fire pit, etc. AMENITIES You may use of all interior and exterior furniture in the cabin. Items can be moved, but please ask permission and communicate clearly with what you’d like to move. Wi-fi may be provided upon request. LIGHT There is lots of natural light inside the cabin (there are two large skylights in the living room and one large skylight in the bedroom). The windows look out onto lots of greenery and trees. Because the property is enclosed with a privacy fence it feels like you are removed from the urban neighborhood. After dark, landscape lighting and surrounding street lights provide minimal light for a magical evening experience by the fire. Bistro lighting may also be provided in select areas for evening events. NEIGHBORHOOD DETAILS The cabin is in a safe and quiet gentrifying neighborhood. It’s an up and coming area with mostly single family homes. We know most all of our neighbors by name and everyone is friendly. This is one reason why we must be courteous at all times to our neighbors. More on this below. We are minutes away from 365 by WholeFoods, Vietnamese Gingergrass, CVS and other coffee shops and small stores. We are blocks away from one of the newest, hottest, restaurants in LA - Salazar! Voted by LA Weekly as one of the top ten restaurants in Los Angeles. There’s also our very own Frogtown Brewery and an amazing gourmet sandwich joint - Wax Paper. Also, Marsh park - a new skate park with exercise equipment. It’s one of Elysian Valley's L.A. River-adjacent gems! Tidy and landscaped, the park has tree-lined paths and a play meadow. Dogs are allowed on leash. ***NOISE LEVEL*** Because this venue is in a residential neighborhood, we are always considerate of our neighbors. Extremely loud noise is not permitted, and all amplification be will turned off or minimized after 10PM. Generally, we just need to be courteous to those around us at all times. SMOKING/ALCOHOL No smoking indoors at the cabin. Any outdoor smoking should be limited to designated areas away from the cabin and ALL cigarette butts must be removed, including on the sidewalk or street in front of the venue or an additional cleaning fee may be assessed. Butt disposal buckets need to be provided if smoking is to occur near the premises. Alcohol may be permitted, but all laws must be strictly enforced, and other matters such as security, bartenders, etc. may need to be arranged. NO SHOTS. No underage drinking will be tolerated. No excessive consumption will be tolerated and guests will be removed if overly intoxicated. Please use good judgment - we want everyone to have a great time and be safe. EVENTS - Please be clear and up front with what you're looking to do with your event. We are collaborators and truly want to make your event a success! There is generally ample parking in our neighborhood. There is street cleaning for 2 hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:30 to 1:30 so you may have to move your car - read all posted signs carefully. For much larger crews there is a parking lot nearby that you can rent and we are happy to pass along the info. Thank you!
GUESTS MUST PROVIDE EVENT INSURANCE with host named as additional insured. VALET/SHUTTLE service may be required, as this is a residential area and we need to be respectful of our neighbors. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS. Vehicles blocking driveways in the neighborhood will be towed at vehicle owner's expense. PORTABLE RESTROOMS will likely be required, based on event size. ALL VENDOR DELIVERIES must be made during the booked event hours, or arranged at additional compensation to the host for accommodating early drop offs and late or next day pickups. NO SMOKING INSIDE or on porch. However, smoking may be allowed outside away from the cabin in designated areas. You must provide disposal receptacles and be mindful not to leave cigarette butts anywhere in the yard or on the sidewalk/street, or an additional cleaning fee may be assessed. ALCOHOL/MARIJUANA - all laws must be adhered to and no over intoxication will be tolerated. Please be responsible. NO SHOTS. NO LOUD NOISE. Please RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS. All amplification will end at or before 10 PM. DAMAGES. We understand accidents happen, but please be communicative with us if something gets broken or damaged. A walk-through is required before and after all bookings. Extra charges may apply. We are not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. PLEASE NOTE: All booking start and end times are inclusive of setup and tear down/cleanup time. Guests may cancel their Booking until 30 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 30 days and 7 days before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Jenn and Dean are the best. Easy to communicate with, incredibly responsive, accommodating, flexible - everything you want in a host. And the space is completely magical, exactly as advertised except BETTER. You'd never even think you were in L.A. Highly recommend this space!

This cabin is an EXTREME DELIGHT in all aspects! Setting is gorgeous, it doesn't feel like you're in L.A. but you fully are (so easy to access), the hosts are so accommodating and easy to work with, and all my guests were amazed at the beauty and "retreat feel" of the place. Loved this experience!

I can't explain how incredible it was having Dean and Jenn as a part of our shoot. They were so unbelievably kind and generously went above and beyond to help us. I couldn't recommend a space more! As soon as you walk onto the property you are in artistic heaven. A stunning location tucked away and easily accessible. It is impossible to get a bad shot in this space - it is just as gorgeous as the photos and Dean & Jenn were so communicative and supportive to us and our film.
